I'm new to the mechanics of riding. I've ridden quads and love it, but I've never really owned one of my own. I bought this quad in pretty rough shape and have been slowly restoring it. I'm almost ready to kick it over, but I'm doing a little research before i add fluids. I'm wondering what kind of oil i should use. I know the specs call for 10w40, but with the age and brand of my quad I'm curious to hear an experienced opinion. And since I'm just getting started with this forum, I don't have access to the service manuals yet. Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated! Thanks and happy riding!

I own a few older quads mix of kinds a couple of Yamahas, a Honda, can-am a Kawasaki, they are older quads but in good shape the question of the day is....... what's the best way to polish up the plastic?
I have found that Dollar General mold remover is good to get the black stuff off the plastic works good, but was wondering how you polish up the plastics on yours.

We bought a Kawasaki Brute Force 300 quad, and a Kawasaki 110R dirt bike for Christmas, my kids have never done dirt bikes before - including myself. I was riding to learn, so I could help teach them... is there any recommended videos they should watch online to help them get started and not scared of riding it?

Saw this club and thought I should log in. I'm a mechanic in New Zealand and have been mainly self employed in small rural communities for the last forever. I've worked on everything from heavy machinery and decent sized boat motors to tiny model airplane engines,
If there's anything I can help with let me know.
The quad forums here are great, particularly so due to the friendly atmosphere and lack of arguing or slagging off.. which seem to be the norm some places.. Good work guys.
