My friend has a Yamaha Warrior 350 with ITP Holeshots. He keeps getting stuck cause they are flat track tires. We ride trails and creeks. He has been stuck in the creek a few times and he is finally ready for new tires. Right now he has 20X11X9 on it. I think the rim is 9 inches wide, maybe 9 and a half. The default size for the tire is listed as 22X11X9. We are looking to put a set of ITP Mud Lite AT ATV Tires on it. They have the tire in the default 22X11X9 but he really wants to get the 25X12X9.

My question is will there be a problem using a 12 inch wide instead of a 11 inch wide tire. I don't think there really would be a problem but I want to be sure before I order the tires tomorrow morning for him.

id actually go with kenda bear claws. the mud lites probably wouldn't be good according to what my local ATV dealer told me and it makes sense to me. the mud lites were mainly designed for 700+ quads so therefore a smaller quad wouldn't have the power to turn them over easily to go through mud properly. having a 12" wide tire would help if you can get the proper size for it. a 25" tall tire would probably be to much for the quad as its default is 22" and id think would need a lift kit although im not fully sure. id get bear claws in the default size if its not to late

Well I made a decision that he'll have to live with. I went with the 22X11X9. I read something that made me decide not to order the 25's. I knew it was harder on the low end and stuff like that. But didn't think about the bigger tires make higher center of gravity. Which translate to flipping it easier.

Seen that the actual default tire size is 22X10X9 but I didn't see them listed anywhere.

My son rides a 450 Kodiak, with a set of Mudlite XLs( in the stock size) on it.It has more than enough power to turn them, and it works great in the mud.That being said, I decided to go with Swamplites(again stock size) on my 550 Grizzly, because I think that the Mudlites are pretty hard on the drive line, they do hook pretty hard, and I know from years of drag racing that some tire slip can save drive line parts a lot of abuse. My Swamplites have gotten me through every where that I have gone with them , and they are 6 ply construction, giving much better stiffness, for less side roll and sway. I'll tell you right now, that these tires have made my atv a whole new animal, and before someone says replacing worn out tires will make a big difference on any machine, I replaced mine with just 100 kms(60 miles ) on them.

      Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.
