it's probably one of the easiest fixes on a bike. take the cover off, 6-8 bolts and you're inside. 3 bolts usually holding the stator in and 2 phillips head screws holding the pick up coil. make sure you thread the wiring tight and one connection .... you can do it in an hour or less ...

on a 2000 quad master is the stator location on the left side under the pull rope or on the belt side. if you are setting on the atv the pull rope is on your left side. thanks getting ready to change the stator

oxidized black got the pull rope off all the bolts out of the stator cover, unhooked the two water lines and removed the hoses,, pulled off the gear that the starter goes into about a 9/16 bolt head in the center. now I see three screws do they have to come out to get the cover off,, cover is loose. I dont want to break anything thanks for the help. Raybob

I am going to change the oil and also change the final gear oil since some leaked out where do you drain the final gear oil and fill final gear oil and fill it. Ray

I installed a new stator due to spark problems. I re-assembled the minimum just to start it. Fired right up. However it would not shift, probably assembly error. I am attaching two pics, one is the crankcase left side and the other is the crankcase cover where the stator is mounter. I the cover pic I am pointing at a fork type part with two fingers. How should that be oriented for reassembly?? If you can see something else wrong in the photos let me know. Or could it be where the shifter rod goes thru the crankcase cover, the rod might of gone thru the case hole crooked?? For a quicker response email at byter1 at gmail.com

      Evening everyone
With my friends, I'm building a one-person track-day car that is powered by an LTR450. One of the problems we're encountering is the lack of amperage created by the charging system.
Are there any stators that can swap into the LTR450 case to up the amperage? Are there any other methods to up the amperage? Weight is a huge consideration in this, so we can't really run a larger battery.
      Thanks
