With......yep...a carb question. I recently became the owner of an 02 zuki LTF250F quadrunner. I'm the second owner with only 136 mi. on the clock, it's about as OG as it gets with everything still original and in perfect shape. Well the other day it started idling fast then slow then fast, you get the idea. Now this isn't my first go around with an atv so I figured the carb needed a good cleaning. I bought a rebuild kit through my local Zuki dealer and went to work, well the bowl was full of trash! Completely disassembled it and cleaned it all out, then blew it all out with air, poked around all the little holes and what not to make sure it was clean. I reassembled it and put it all back together and pulled the choke gave the starter button a tap and vroom! Fired right up! Sweet! Let it idle for a bit turned off the choke and purrs like a kitty, gave her a little throttle......uh oh...bogged out and stalled. Hmm maybe carb not full of fuel. Tap the start button, vroom fires right up, give it a lil throttle, Boggs down and dies. Hmmm now I've search all over this site and tried everything that I found like the fuel valve and intake leaks also check all the lines to the carb but I find nothing. What happened? It was running great other than the idle surging, now it won't rev up. Any ideas? Thanks Kelly. Oh and the plug was wet and black if that helps. Thanks again.

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

was thinking most of us on this forum would have another ride, so to get the ball rolling...........
MY MAX 4 6X6 2009, now this will actually go anywhere including across the water. In the 3rd photo I had gone up the river about 30 meters then climbed up the bank, 6X6 owners call it "swimming"

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?
