:aargh:Went to go for a ride today. Started up the road and noticed i didnt have much power. In first gear its fine but all the other ones it dont have any power. when i let the clutch out it is almost to the end that it finally catches. im hoping that it is a clutch and not the transmission. Could use whatever input i can get.

Is the clutch almost out all the way in 1st before it engages as with the other gears. Like Ox said it may just need an adjustment. Have you felt it not engaging over time or was it all at once?

well i thought it just needed adjusted and now it wont even engage so it must be the clutch. the last poker run must have really don it in. it was really wet and muddy. towards the end it started acting up went i let the clutch out it would shut the engine off. it must have finally went all the way. so what kind of clutch kit do you recommend. i found a wiseco kit for $89 and an EBC for $99. barrnett and hinson are almost $200 . just wondering if they were worth it or if the cheaper kits were ok.

I would do a search for reviews on each brand barrnett & hinson are used by most pro riders for racing and are worth the money if your racing. Most products that are used in racing is built to with stand more punishment & give better performance. For wiseco & ebc I would try and find reviews on the net and see what customers have to say. If a 89 or 99 dollar kit will work for what you need I don't see spending 200.00 dollars. If a product improves the performance it's going to cost more but that dosn't mean it will last longer than a product that cost less just do some research. And this is a great site for info out of all the members I'm sure someone has used the brands you listed.

I know alot of the factory kits last alot longer than aftermarket but dont have the bite when putting down gobs of extra power. If your not racing mx or gncc go with a factory clutch kit

agree, hard to replace factory specs with others that will give you this; but not that ... go OEM

i dont race i just trail ride. the wiseco kit says it has the same specs as the factory kit does. im going to do a little more research on it. thanks for the help guys. much apprieciated.

      I have a 1990 Honda fourtrax 300 2x4
I rode the other day for 30-45 min. Switched it off and now it is completely dead..
battery is fully charged, fuses are good . WILL NOT TURN OVER ,
headlights won't turn on , No neutral, reverse or oil temp lights . Electrically it is completely dead !!! I replaced the key switch and CDI box , STILL NOTHING.
I bypassed the neutral safety switch and grounded it to the battery and still nothing !! I used a jumper wire on the starter Solenoid , the motor will turn over but not start . I even bypassed both fuses and straight wired it to see if I could get a neutral light or headlights still nothing . What could it be ?

The clutch engagement on my 2021 cforce 400s was approx 2700 RPM, very abrupt/not smooth.   I obtained a "kit" from RNG consisting of a blue painted spring (spring force unknown) with 12 gram weights, as measured on my postal scale.  Installation was easy; 18 mm and 30 mm (not 32 mm as seen on other writings) impact sockets for clutch housing removal.  The resultant clutch engagement was still up to approx 2500 and very abupt/not smooth.
The original spring was labeled p/n 0951-1021 (specs for spring force 300/1600) with 18 gram weights.
I called RNG who told me the kit should work fine for my ATV, but that wasn't the case as I found.
The RNG spring was slightly longer than the stock spring, but felt slightly easier at initial downward force but had more resistance than stock as I continued to push down.  RNG would not tell me what the spring force was.
I then tested the clutch with the RNG spring and the OEM 18 gram weights with the resultant engagement RPM of about 2050 RPM, a little smoother engagement but still not good.
I am really struggling to get any answers on the best combination of spring / weights to achieve a smooth engagement of maybe 1800 RPM.  Note; idle RPM is approx. 1600.
I have searched all the forums and cannot find good information, and RNG appears to be not willing to share information.  What gives here?  Anyone with experience to share?

So I decided to pick up a small trailer if I could get one for the right price.  I found this one for a few hundred bucks on Craig’s list.  It is  a galvanized trailer which is exactly what I was looking for. The wood was shot and needed some minor repairs which I could care less about as long as the chassis was good.
I striped it down and put a new deck on. I had some vinyl realtree graphics that I had laying around so I added them to the fenders which I think worked out well. Very happy with this little guy.
I'm having the iron workers at my jobmake me up a few lightweight side rails that will have a 22 degree bend in them to accommodate the tires that slightly hang over the edge and will incorporate some tie down points as well.
