Help Identifying Old Yamaha Quad?

Recommended Posts

I have inherited a Yamaha quad but there is no model number on it that I can find--which I need in order to get an oil filter for it.

It has a 4-cycle, carbureted, air-cooled engine and its very basic--no speedometer, etc. A friend thinks it might be a "300."

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Spence

the serial number will be above the shifter on that rail of frame. and the engine is stamped on the motor on the foot brake side.

The number on the engine is 4KD112557. Still cannot find a VIN or model number, but I have uploaded two pictures. Can you access them? I cannot figure out how to put them into "my garage."

Thanks for your help.

i would say it was a '90's big bear 350 ... is it all time 4 wheel or does it have a 2 to 4 select switch?

Yep, it sure looks like the same machine. Now Im curious why the word "Timberwolf" was removed from the side of my machine. Maybe someone has a wolf phobia!

Any idea what year(s) these machines were manufactured or where I might download a users manual?

Thanks again for the help.

Spence

maybe fuel spills and knee wear took it's toll on the decals ...

the all time 4 wheel were made from '94 to 2000.

The Hop-Up: You may be saying to yourself, “that’s a chick bike,” and you’re right. But honestly, it’s so much more than that. It’s one badass bike. http://www.quadmagazine.com/quad/features/article/0,24942,1587044,00.html

I just got a 1991 Yamaha Moto 4 for my son and I am looking for a service repair manual. I know that the timing chain needs replaced.

Feul pump went out. Replaced. At times quad cuts out like its not getting gas. Saw article on new pump needs to be calibrated. Told how to go into a service mode. Does not tell how to calibrate after going into mode. Can anyone shed light on this procedure.
