I recently discovered I broke the valve cam shaft in my 1995 King Quad (model LTF4WDXS). The break point was right next to the timing sprocket. Could someone help me w/ a few questions?

First, the place where the cam shaft broke has scored the seat where the shaft turns on both the top and bottom of the valve cover. To the point where it looks and feels rough. Can I use a very fine grinder to hone out some of the rough areas or will it likely oversize the housing and the shaft will wobble? OR is it repairable?

Second, if it is repairable, how do I time it? Can someone suggest the procedure or a resource to learn that procedure?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hopefully someone can help me out, I purchased a 350 moto4 2wd while I'm trying to fix a dying honda. I can't see the vin number as there was damage and a bar has been welded where I think the vin should be, The decals say 350 moto4 Huntaway, it has the square gear change low, high, reverse up on the left of the handlebars and it has three rectangle lights up on the dash. after googling I'm struggling to find anything called huntaway, Any ideas? Thanks.

You guys are my last resort. Got a 2000 prairie 300. Brand new battery, neutral switch, aftermarket carb, spark plug, silenoid, key switch. Fuses are good. No neutral green light, will crank if cross the silenoid, but won’t start. No power at the ignition switch or regulator. I’m thinking cdi box or starter relay. Anyone have any suggestions?

My bayou 250 came to a stop and would not not start, it turned out the starter clutch had a fit and died. I changed the starter clutch which had sheared off the 3 bolts attaching it to the flywheel and everything went smoothly. However, when I went to start it I found it would not start. On investigation I found the timing out of whack, by alot. Thinking it was something I did on the repair, I repeated the process of removing and reinstalling the starter clutch and related components and resetting the engine to TDC. Tried to start and immediately realized the timing was out of sync again.
Is there something I'm missing? Could there have been a bigger issue, possibly on the other side of the engine? I don't understand why, with a brand new starter clutch there would be such movement in the crank. The timing chain and sprockets do not look worn and appears to be tight on the tensioner. When I move by hand everything appears to move as you would expect. But when I try to start it using the starter or the pull start it goes out of whack!

Hi everyone i am coming from Europe and looking forward to join this community. I'm currently riding Kymco mxu300r which is the same bike as Brute Force 300 just different plastics.
Recently i came to a problem with this atv when accelerating near full throttle it suddenly lost power like i quickly released throttle but i kept throttle lever in the same spot. Since then it pulls off fine until you are past first 1/4 of throttle and then starts stuttering/misfiring. Same behavior when revving in neutral or riding. Cleaned and gapped spark plug but no better.
Could this sudden symptoms be from bad ignition coil and cdi or dirty carb? Carb was never cleaned before but i used stabil in gas when atv was not in use. Atv has 1000 miles carb on it is Keihin cvk32.
Sorry for longer post and thank you in advance.
