Hello, new to Quad crazy. I'd like to say thank you for having me. I bought a 02 honda trx 400 ex for $200 with 4 extra very nice ITP rims and tires for the dunes and 2 stock rims with drag rear paddles. didn't run. got it running. They owner before me said it has a big bore kit in it. Does that mean it's been bored .040? or could it be any sizes bore kit? And if it is .040 over. is it a 440? I've seen a 416 a 426 on the forum. so I'm not really sure of the size difference between stock engines and bored engine when there bored out. I'm at this point right now. bought a rebuild kit for the carb. On theses engines what would cause the engine to knock? A buddy sold me the quad and it was his sons so he didn't know what was wrong with it. just that it didn't run. I'm hoping to get a little help from the forum. how would u go about trying to figure out what is wrong. Would the bored out kit cause the motor to knock. It smokes kinda white sh blue smoke. I was also told the the connecting rod is pressed to the crank. if this is true can the connecting rod be removed from the crank to replace just the connecting rod or do I have to replace both? i'd like to rebuild just the top end. I'm a small guy only weighing 125lbs don't really need a bunch more HP. But what ever HP parts are in it. I'm going to try and replace them with the same. what rebuild kits would u use?Never rebuilt one before this will be my first. There seems to be a whole bunch of racing upgrades on this quad. The axles are even longer for better handling. Thanks everyone I'm new to all this. Thanks for reading all my questions!!!I want to ride real bad. Cant weight!!! Thanks again for having me and all your help!!! Thanks Brad

Could be a con rod bearing knock. Piston slap or maybe valves White blue smoke is burning oil. Rings or valve seals... Maybe a cracked head. This motor def needs to be taken apart an evaluated

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

Just some friendly advice on new tires. Check with your ATV dealer.
There are so many aftermarket sites, Revco, Royal Distributing, Partzilla, and on and on. Even with their “ big sales”, my local Canam dealer’s REGULAR price beat the tire prices of the 3rd party sellers! People often assume the Dealership will cost them more, but I found this not to be true!
