I am having so many proublems with my Lakota 300. Can't seem to get the timing right for some reason. Havn't been able to get it to start for some while. Does anyone know of a sit where I can download a free manual. All I can find is a manul for a KLF 300 and I don't know if I can use this manual for the Lakota. Any help would be great. Thank You!!!!!:frown:

So I fixed the timing like it said too and still nothing. I found an article that has all the specs for my Lakota tho. Do you think that it might be the valves? I got the instructions for installing new valves, but I don't wanna go messing around on something I have never done before. Man this Lakota has been a headache since I got the thing. Ran good for a day then it just died on me. Feel like selling it and getting something else!!!!

Hey everyone looking for a suggestion of where i can start looking. But first I'd like to explain what happened. Took the bike this morning got it started in 6 degrees celsius in 6-7 kicks? No choke. Drove 6km and when shifted to next gear bike decided to just shut off, stopped checked everything out seemed good, started first kick and on i went, drove maybe another 2km bike did same thing but this time it took me 10-15 kicks to get it started, on the third time after a kilometer decided not to start at all. Kicked it like a 450 a couple hundred times, nothing. So far checked gas is good, bypassed fuel filter and on/off valve to eliminate that problem, hot wired the kill switch in case something got corroded there. Nothing. Any suggestions would be welcomed. (Heard valve adjustment are a must do?)

I recently was gifted a 1998 Lakota 300 and it was modified to start only by electric start. ( Removed the pull start) So I put together all the parts he was able to find and I believe it's back together like it's supposed to be but when I start it via electric start, it turns over but I do not hear the sound a proper combustion sound makes. Furthermore, I did all the spark tests and it's showing none whatsoever.
I installed a new starter and I believe I installed it correctly. Could I have accidentally thrown the timing off? I lined up the timing marks but the top mark will NOT line up correctly.

Hey guys I have a 99 xpress 300 and I'm having an issue, I rebuilt the engine and it will only start when I put my han over the intake on the car (when I manually choke it), I am not very familiar with plunger chokes.could some one help me understand how this choke is supposed to work and maybe how to ajust it so it works, thanks!

I believe the Kawasaki is either an '03 or '04. Green automatic with shifter on the right side. Rear differential was bad, so I replaced it with another. The 4 wheeler rolled in neutral when I parked it in the shop to work on. Took old diff off and replaced it with another one. The diff I put on, turned before I put it on the bike. Once I put it on the bike, the rear end wouldn't move at all. It's like it's stuck in gear. Bike is still in neutral. I've tried rocking the bike while trying to put it in high, won't budge. Can anyone tell me of something to check or try? I haven't opened up the transmission case yet to see what's going on. What should I be looking for?
