  1. Are there any machine shops, and or race car builders in your area? They should be able to help you and resolve the problem one way or another.. and or a welding and steel fabrication shop

    Chris

yeah we called a few today and they say they are to busy to work on stuff like this. Also i think it will cost more to have it machined than it would to buy a frame, still weighing our options though.

  2. Things arent looking good for my frame. The steering bearing retainer nut wont budge despite efforts made by machine shops , garages with impact wrenches, and our own efforts causing us to break a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a socket wrench. SOOOOO it appears i am goin to need a new frame. so the ebay search has started. :aargh::aargh::aargh: I have gotten discouraged beyond belief but i know my honey will help me as much as he can, i think his encouragment is dwindled as well. I was sooo excited about this quad and now it just seems it has caused me more stress than it has fun. BUT when its done its gonna be my baby.

The only way to save the frame is to cut the bolt out risking ruining the threads, in which case we would be welding a new bolt in and hopin that we dont need to replace the bearing ever again, i will keep u all updated. :aargh::aargh::aargh::no::no:

  3. Well I work for a concrete company doing payroll Tuesday - Friday (12 hour days) then on Saturdays i work for a printing company.......and Monday I work at a backhoe company in the office.....and Sundays........are all mine...lol...But when its time to ride i just go...lol:aargh:

Ughh mamma i couldnt work that much kudos to you for workin so hard

  4. I have a 2000 Honda and I can get all the parts I want for it!!!!

Also, check out the closeout sections of RKYMTN and Dennis Kirk to find really great specials on gear and other stuff.....

I usually can get a decent pair of Thor riding pants for my Husband of either for like 40 bucks at the most...granted he wears a 29 inch waist......but they have great deals, none the less.

I htink probably because they stopped makin the warrior , its more difficult for me to find stuff for it on sites like RMATV. Dennis kirk does have alot more for my quad though. Also Chaparralracing.com has alot too.

  5. Well the last few days i've been home sick, BUTTTT on a normal day, I am a licensed veterinary technician and have a new york state professional license. I work at an all cat hospital called (ironically) Just Cats Veterinary Clinic. I specialize in feline veterinary dentistry. Its a dirty job but someones got to take care of the kittys

  6. Well currently i cant ride at all cuz my wheeler is a bagillion pieces:frown:, so you all consider yourselves very very lucky to be riding now  But when i get it all pretty and goin....I will mostly just be riding for fun, but maybe i will try tearing up a track or two, i have always wanted to try racin.:cute:

  7. We actually bought some gaskette remover stuff today. We heard on another forum that its worth a try to get that bolt out. That stuff takes rust off like you woudnt believe. We are soaking it in pb blaster tonight and then the gaskette stuff tomorrow night and we will try to pull it again after soaking it. My honey broke a breaker bar tonight thathe just bought tryin to get the damn thing off. :aargh::aargh::aargh::aargh::aargh::aargh::aargh:

  8. Not sure how it is on other quads, on Yamahas, the bearing drops in and then you thread a retaining nut into the shaft, the shaft is threaded. It is real low torque and comes out with a 29mm Allen wrench. Then the bearing will pull right out of the top.

The issue is the retaining nut has snapped a 1/2" Ratchet which had a 4' breaker bar on it. This sucker is in there. Heating it to red hot then muscling it may just bend the bracket and not break it free.

ha yeah what my honey said

  9. So the saga with the quad continues, for those who dont know I have a 1997 yamaha warrior that is a project quad. Me and my man are takin it apart and redoin stuff. The steering bearing retainer is locked on and we cant get the old bearing out, we have again tried everything from lubing , heat, cranking on it, to breakin a socket wrench tryin to get this thing off. Normally these nuts are supposed to be easy, any one have ne other suggestions on what to try???:aargh:
