-
I took this picture at the Unadilla Pro National Atv Races at the Unadilla valley sports center in the central new york in 2007. Cant wait till this years races in June )

I wasnt even meaning to get air really lol, i went over a "jump" or spot in the trail and gased it a lil comin off and zac said i got a few inches of tire off the ground...lol...i was excited though.
-
Got some pics of the frame- hasnt been clear coated yet and its hard to see the pretty metallic blue in the picture as it doesnt do it justice. You cant see the pretty sparkles haha.
We painted the swing arm metallic black hanging from this tree- this is also before the clear coat.
MANY MORE TO COME STAY TUNED

awesome pics MWKE I love jumping, but you're right Scott, I totally have a hard time telling how much to gas it before the big jump...
sometimes it turns out good, and well, others they don't turn out soo great.
I got some tiny air with zacs quad the other day )

Did yall know that this quad was going to need this much work when yall bought it? Thats ok if yall did and wanted a fixerupper. I could have gotten you a sweet deal on a Raptor 350 and wouldn't have to put a dime in it. One of the guys that we ride with bought it for his wife two yrs ago and tricked it out with all of the GYT-R accessories....his wife rode just a few trail rides with all of us and hasn't gotten back on it....the last price he quoted me was around $2800 with everything on it....the only reason I haven't gotten it is because I have no where to store another quad.
Well to answer your question we knew when we bought me a used quad we were gonna tear it down and go through everything, no matter what quad i got. When we bought this one we knew we were gonna tear it down and paint the frame and replace some stuff, but we didnt know that the swing arm was cracked or that certain things were broken, or stuck, so it has turned into more of a project thn we had hoped, but yes i knew i was gonna get a "fixer upper" . This one just turned out to be a lil more work then expected.

Yup they are anodized blue my nerfs arent painted its the color of the metal. i think ...haha zac explained it to me but i dont remeber lol
-
We started painting the frame today . The blue i picked out is awesome. Its metallic blue and in certain light has a hugh of purple almost like the nerfs, pics to come soon .
-
well put... not knocking paint but the frame takes the grunt of everything for the most part... if you rode strickly in the dunes i wouldn't worry about it to much... anything but dunes it isn't going to stay nice and pretty for to long...
Guys this whole project is a learning experience. I have no doubt that powder coating would be the best option. But we have had alot of problems and have had to purchase alot of new and used parts for this thing. ie swing arm, caliper, brake pads, $200 in nuts and bolts, steering stem, heel quards, we have to still have to get the motor machined to get the stuck head bolts out, and we are rebuilding the top end. As for accessories, yes i bought new nerfs and a bumper- luckily i got them on sale from albaactionsports.com. Regular prices nerfs were $130 bucks, and i got them for $50. The bumper reg priced was $80 and i got it for $29. So i have only spent $90 on accessories. I would still have to come up with another $400 bucks to powder coat and we cant do that this year. maybe next.
We also arent just spray paintin the frame as is or ne thing- we have spent alot of time prepping and cleaning and removing rust-its been primered and sanded and it will get painted today and a coat of clear coat will be put on top. It wasnt done half assed but i know its not going to last half as long as powder coat-trust me i have weighed that option BUT It will get me through the season- and when i have more money to spend next year maybe ill powder coat. just cant wait to ride the thing

you should use powder coat.. doesn't wear as fast..
too much to do not enough money
-
man youre lucky!
wish i could just do it all in like a week!
this one is going to take about 1 month or maybe two to be done with just the cosmetics..
but its all free.
=P
haha:laugh:
o its already been two months and i prolly have a few weeks left....wont be done ne time soon

Zac and I have Nintendo, Super Nintendo , Nintendo 64, Game cube, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, umm and i think thats it. We have been using the Wii the most latley and play alot of Zelda, Mario galaxy, Golf, and other sports games. I use the xbox for mx vs atv and the sims. And the gamecube is good for mario cart. Zac and i both love video games, but niether one of us is coordinated enough to play any of the guitar hero type games. It kills me when we go to the stores and see 5 year olds that can tear it up on guitar hero and neither one of us can hit one note.

Alright the dog is cute but my ed is adorable

This girl is smilin ear to ear right now and so is my man. He was able to cut the bolt and then use a air chisel to knock the bolt and out it came. The threads are intact and the bearing is out  My wheeler project is back on tract now and im so excited. I new my man could fix it all for me. Now i wont need a new frame and the painting begins this week. More pics will be up soon . Thanks to all for their suggestions.
