  1. After one and a half years, my 400s is still still in like new condition. It has a few scratches here and there from trail riding, but nothing large. I'm putting a plow on it this year. I've had two issues with this quad that I'd like to share with any likely buyers. These issues have been acknowledged by CFMoto so I doubt they will continue past 2017. 1. Air box recall kit and warping. There is a recall kit available for the 400 because of oil blowing back through a breather tube into the air box. Also, on my machine, the air box warped so bad I couldn't seal it. Your dealer can fix both of these free of charge. 2. Radiator Thermoswitch A known issue and likely fixed problem with most models thermoswitches caused then to fail and cause machines to overheat when the fan no longer worked. Easy fix.
  2. Thats what I've been told as well. I joined a large ATV club that has over 100 land owners and 3500 acres with hundreds of miles of trails through Washington county. It's quite nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I love them so far. I may yet get a set of 1" spacers to go with them but haven't made up my mind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I just purchased a set (4) of these for $349.00 on Amazon. They are going on my Cforce 400. The guys on the CFMoto forum suggest I tune my clutch to make up for the increased weight, Tire Lug depth, etc. I've been doing a ton of searching on CVTech clutches and I think I've found how to do it. I've been told to add about 10g weight to my primary clutch and change the secondary to A1. If I don't do the weights I should atleast change the secondary to C1. Does anyone here have experience with CVTech clutches and have any recommendations for me? Anyone used SunF tires? 25-8-12/25-10-12 Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Local banks and credit union's most likely can offer a better interest rate, smaller payments or a longer term for a loan. Makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'd say that depends on your income but if you can afford it, sure, go for it. I recently bought a new machine with cash but I was offered financing on it. I had planned on buying with cash but now I kind of wish I had thought it out more. If I had used the $4300 cash and financed another 6 or 7 thousand I could have bought a really nice UTV or larger machine. I happened to get pretty lucky and got a good deal on a CfMoto with a 3 year warranty so I'm not disappointed but in hindsight I may have made a different choice If I had considered financing. On the upside, atleast I have no payment and still got a nice machine. Yes, dealers offer financing for decent to good credit buyers for all brands as far as I know. Most dealers have several brands in house, atleast in my state they do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I looked at that also. They make vehicle specific and one universal which id have to use since my quad is too new. Thanks for the input. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Kolpin Stealth Exhaust 2.0 with Heat Shield - 53570 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001Q4UC52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Hr39ybJAH7PS4 I've been considering purchasing one of these for my Cforce400. I've read many reviews, good and bad. Anyone here have any feedback you can offer? It seems it does well on 300cc to 500cc machines but not so well on larger displacement machines. Thats what I gathered from 100+ reviews between Ebay, Amazon and a few other sites. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. They absolutely cater to Snowmobile riders, and I live near many trails that are groomed and maintained just for Snowmobiles. I recently inquired (at my local municipality) if those trails (or any others) were available to ATV's or UTV's and was told rather bluntly No. It's supposedly because ATV's and Dirtbikes require much more trail maintenance than Snowmobiles do. They told me that NY leaves it to private individuals to make trails accessable to riders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The brand is 25 years old. Back a few years ago when Chinese brands started making their way to the US, there was about 40 manufacturers and pretty much all of them were junk, like mosr are now. CFMoto was the only Chinese manufacturer to actually make good stuff and scored a few wins in Europe to sell their bikes. Since then they have become extremely popular in Europe and Australia and now in Canada. Starting in 2016 they decided to use "penetration pricing" to enter the United States Market and more of the Canadian market. They succeeded and now many dealers sell and service their products. I heard of them because of my local dealer bought a large shipment of them and saw their UTV's are unbelievably awesome. DirtTrax says they have turned the "Big Seven" manufacturers into the "Big Eight" manufacturers. They basically model themselves after Polaris machines and aim to compete directly with them in each category. So the Sportsman 450 is $2500 more than the Cforce 400s, but the 400s has more HP, more standard features and you save a bundle. The only reason I know all this is because I was sceptical as hell when I started shipping around but was eventually sold after riding one right after test driving a Polaris and CanAm machine. My only regret is not buying the 500HO instead lol The Cforce 400s starts at $4100 for the 2017 model. I saved $550 by getting an unused 2016 leftover. For what it's worth, since March my 2 local dealers can't keep these in stock. I had to basically talk the salesman into not selling to another guy who was on the fence before me. It rides amazing. It has a CVTech clutch made in a Canada, which are great clutches. The suspension is also made in Canada and is pretty great. I haven't had a bad experience yet. The only con I could come up with is the steering isn't power steering, so when coupled with technical off road riding it can become tiring on your arms. Power Steering is an option on all their models but like I said, I bought a 2016 leftover without P.S. It has a pretty impressive spec sheet. CVTech clutch 2" receiver Double A-arm suspension with coilovers Digital dashboard Push button 2&4 wheel drive Push button locking differential High/low/neutral/reverse/Park Engine break On road lighting package Yausa AGM sealed battery about twice the size of normal ATV batteries All of the above is standard stock features. Pretty nice. The 400 is the smallest machine they offer and if you want to blow your mind you should check out their larger ATVs and UTVs. They are freaking insane. Anyway, I'm sold. I've ridden Polaris my whole life (never owned) and I thought I was a Polaris guy until these guys showed up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah I thought it was pretty cool too. There are a few scarce places in the US that you can drive an ATV/UTV on road. Utah (Provo area) is one of them. I have friends out there that own and drive UTV's everywhere they go locally and don't own a car. It would be nice if the rest of the US followed that example! There are some townships here in northern NY that are based on ATV/Snowmobile tourism but it's so touch and go, there is no legal framework. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thank you. I'm not aware of any state land to ride on as of yet, but I just joined a private ATV club (Foothills ATV Riders) that has quite a lot of acreage and trails ranging from fields to swampy mud. Riding begins May 1st so I'm pumped. If anyone knows of New York state land thats accessible to ATV Riders please let me know. This state seems hostile to ATV's in general so far but I may be mistaken. The cargo box is one I found on a Google search. It's called the Black Widow and I got it from discountramps.com. It was a bit pricey and I later found it for less than what I paid so a thorough search is recommended. It was pretty simple to install, requiring 8 holes to be drilled into it for universal mounting. It can hold 4 helmets at once and other stuff as well. Its pretty large. I also just received this but have yet to install it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/282297950964 I also just installed a few high wattage LED lights up front for plowing this next winter and a 2k pound winch as well. Whats pretty cool about these CFMoto machines is that they are setup for on road use with turn signals, horns, headlights, etc since in Europe where they are much more popular, some countries allow on road use. 14. Hi all, I am a CfMoto owner from Upstate Ny and just joined QuadCrazy. I've ridden and been around atv's my whole life but never owned one until recently. I've even considered getting a second Cforce 400 for friends to ride. Glad to be here. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, I just joined the forum. I just recently purchased a 2016 Cforce 400 from a local dealer. I was apprehensive at first, mainly because of the typical "Chinese brands are cheap" narrative, but I love this quad. I also picked up a Cycle Country plow and a few extras from eBay. So far I am enjoying this quad and I believe it's one of the best deals you can find (if not THE best). Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
