Mud riding is one of the most popular forms of ATV riding, but the wrong tires can leave you stuck fast in deep ruts and swampy trails. Choosing the best ATV tires for mud can dramatically improve traction, steering control, flotation, and overall off-road performance. Whether you ride trails, mud parks, swamps, or backwoods terrain, this guide covers some of the top ATV mud tires available today and what makes them stand out. What Makes a Good Mud ATV Tire? Mud tires are designed with aggressive tread patterns and deep lugs that help clean out thick mud while maintaining traction. The best mud tires usually feature: Deep tread lugs Wide spacing for self-cleaning Strong sidewalls Taller tire sizes for added clearance Durable construction for rough terrain 1. Bias vs Radial Mud Tires Bias Ply Tires Stronger sidewalls Better puncture resistance Popular for aggressive mud riding Radial Tires Smoother ride quality Improved handling Better trail comfort Most serious mud riders prefer bias-ply tires because of their durability in harsh terrain. ATV Mud Tire Maintenance Tips Wash mud off after every ride Check tire pressure regularly Inspect sidewalls for damage Rotate tires periodically Avoid excessive pavement riding Lower tire pressure can improve mud traction, but beadlock wheels are recommended for very low PSI setups. Final Thoughts The best ATV tires for mud depend on your riding style and terrain conditions. Riders who split time between trails and mud often prefer versatile tires like the Maxxis Zilla, while hardcore mud riders typically choose aggressive options like the Outlaw 2 or Assassinator. Before upgrading to oversized mud tires, make sure your ATV can handle the added weight and drivetrain stress. Proper setup can dramatically improve your ATV’s performance in deep mud and swamp terrain. I have a 1985 Suzuki LT230 GE quadrunner. It has been stored in a shed for at least the last 15 years and has very low mileage. Although the tires look and feel great... should I consider changing them since they are 38 years old? I don't intend to ride to far or too fast but I don't want to have to walk out of the bush. Any input would be welcome.

According to my manual I need 25/12/10 tires. I can't find them used. Can a 25/11/10 be put on without modifications? Or anyone know of where to get the tire size I need?
-
Does everyone run the tire pressure as stated on tires or perhaps a couple # below to soften the ride a little?

It's been a while since I looked around at buying ATV tires, so just wondering where everyone is buying their ATV tires from these days? Do you just go to the dealer or do you order them online somewhere? If you get them online, who do you buy from and did you mount them yourself? Also please list your ATV tire brand. 👍

Are the tires on Amazon worth getting? Wanda and Kenda are two I was looking at

TIME FOR NEW TIRES! LOOKING TO BUY NEW TIRES 28X9X14 AND 28X11X14 SOMETHING OTHER THE "ZILLAS". WHAT HAS ANYONE TRIED ON THIS MACHINE?

Does anyone know the exact name of this part? Bottom of tire is tilting in Under the bike and top or tire is tilting out away from the bike. Not terrible but it’s a little 90 for kids want to make it safe. Just need to know exactly what the part is called.

The tires which I bought on ebay cannot be balanced, it’s out of round.Tried riding and had wobble. It was mounted in shop and they also put it on a rim they had sitting in the shop and same issue to confirm it. Are they defective ? They have brand new high quality tires for my old suzuki gsxr750 and want about $600 for two tires. Is it worth it to pay that much or buy another set of front rear tires like Hexautoparts which has good reviews on trustpilot.com? Any recommendations ? Thank you.

I have a 2013 KQ I bought it new but rolled it a few years ago. I have replaced the left lower A-arm and left tie rod, the steering is still a little sketchy as I just eye balled the alignment. But the major issue is the left front tire cambers out at the top and has wore the tire bald. Tires have about 2000 miles on them but other 3 are half tread and left front is a slick.. I can not see anything else bent and don't know what to do..

Looking to get some tires for my old quad, but the tires are getting rarer. Paying near 100 for tires seems a lot when that is what I just paid for tires for my car and i only ride four or five times a year Anyone have any leads on good used or closeouts in 23x10/12 and 23x8/12? Additionally, what other sizes can I run that might be easier to find and not muck with the 4x4? Thanks, AD

OK ya'll.I need your help again. My ATV, 2004 Yam Kodiak 400 4x4,needs a new REAR rim or wheel what have you, whatever term you prefer. I've posted pics here as you can see.The tire is a 25x10.00x12 . As you can see its a deep REAR rim.I cannot seem to find a deep REAR rim. (Capitalization for emphasis) . The only sizes I can find listed are for both the front and rear wheels which is 12x7 4/110. This doesn't help me much. So,who can help me out? Im getting desperate now!LOL!

My village has now made golf carts and atv's legal on the street and now that the wife and i can go cruise around i'm considering putting on street tires to save my knobbies. Thinking on the route of saving costs and using car rims i'm sure i will have to get adapters but has anyone had experiences doing this? Down falls? We dont mud or anything and they would be used for summer only.

Howdy So my stock 2017 750 KQ came with Carlisle AT489 Bias Tires On Amazon these seem to have excellent reviews although the thing I here the most cumulatively on the forums is the first thing to change is the tires. Are these tires all that bad? They seem to be holding up nice and i go on some pretty serious black diamond trails. Granted this is my first ATV purchase and i don't really have anything long term to compare these to. Please lace me up if im missing something here because if buying a new set of tires will increase performance - reliability- comfort - im all for it... Also if you guys could recommend some tires for the trails I'd appreciate it. I don't mud and don't plan to if that helps narrow down the search.

I love them so far. I may yet get a set of 1" spacers to go with them but haven't made up my mind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just purchased a set (4) of these for $349.00 on Amazon. They are going on my Cforce 400. The guys on the CFMoto forum suggest I tune my clutch to make up for the increased weight, Tire Lug depth, etc. I've been doing a ton of searching on CVTech clutches and I think I've found how to do it. I've been told to add about 10g weight to my primary clutch and change the secondary to A1. If I don't do the weights I should atleast change the secondary to C1. Does anyone here have experience with CVTech clutches and have any recommendations for me? Anyone used SunF tires? 25-8-12/25-10-12 Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just got a set of QUADBOSS of 14" QBT447 Utility Tires and a set of 14" QuadBoss Scoville Boss Wheels to mount them on, so that we could beef up the Yamaha Grizzly this winter and run a set of high performing utility tires in the mud & snow (We now need some snow in NY). 12" stock tires and rims came off the ATV and this new set of 14" tires and rims went on, and as you can see...it really gives the quad a great look and some additional ground clearance. Take a look at the before and after photo below story. Check out some of the additional photos below, we've got our QuadBoss Lounger Trunk which makes a great addition to the quad when hitting the trails. The tires grab very well and the quad feels so much more stable on the trail, for the first quick ride. More posts to come on this over the next few weeks and months as we take our ATV out in the woods for some riding! A few notes about QUADBOSS Scoville Boss Wheels: Built to handle offroad abuse and look awesome doing it. Radical new designs will take your ride to the next level. Ultra strong and super lightweight. Precision machined, aircraft-quality aluminum wheels offer superior performance. Gorgeous finish creates a real show stopper. All wheels come with trick custom center caps. Wheels are rated 573 lbs. to 727 lbs. A few notes about QUADBOSS QBT447 Tires: Tough 6-ply bias construction with 3/4-inch tread depth Wrap around lugs give extra sidewall protection and excellent bite for comering Directional tread pattern excels in loose to intermediate terrains Unique center treat pattern sheds mud but also provides smooth ride on hard pack Sculptured lugs provide additional traction Load rated for most ATVs and UTVs Make sure to visit www.quadboss.com for ATV parts and Accessories!
