Yeah it's not cheap to be sure, but it does work reliably.
-
Now you won't want to get it dirty......
It's OK tho, you have a picture of it clean!

A short break with Sean and me at East Fort Rock South late in the dusty summer.
Someone posted this for me, Thank You! [i'm 'learning' LOL]
-
but it can't be in my computers then, but at a third site?????? huh? WHY? this is the first site where I've run into THIS stuff. this is where I come off the rails
I'm running three computers, does that count?
If I understand this right, I have to upload to quadcrazy photo/video bank first. THEN I find it again after I figure out where I want to post it in a thread? Long way 'round the barn, isn't it? Honestly, most sites are far more user friendly than this. try them.
You guys are making great strides! I was completely baffled when I joined here. The more you can make it 'upload off my PC' the more participation you will have. If it's easy to do then it's fun. If I need a degree or is a pain or makes no sense = less participation. This is a hurdle for me, still. Keep up the good work!!!

if ya wanna get muddy and not worry about a belt then HONDA is your choice!
-
it's a quad, not a BOAT. it's not built for this.
PLUS all the knuckleheads riding thru streambeds has CLOSED several Oregon trail systems.....it's NOT the sport guys, it's the utility riders. sport quads dont have fenders and low gears.
What possessed you to try and make a boat or submarine of the damm thing anyway?
This is NOT doing the sport any good. Kindly stay the hell out of the water unless: 1. it is YOURS, 2.there is a SIGN that says you can enter it,if there is NO sign then DO NOT enter it, and 3. USE COMMON SENSE. Perhaps you folks would be happier with bass boats.
Sorry, but this really annoys me and it is all over our videos etc and the environazis are just eating this up. "how I destroyed a trout creek today" how many HUNDREDS of videos? If you want a boat, buy a damm boat. If you want a quad, then outclimb my sportquad on a long hill, go thru deep snow, push a plow, push a snowplow, pull a road sled, haul a hay trailer, go out in the woods and jump over logs! There are many tasks the utility quad is especially designed to do. QUIT screwing with the creekbeds!!!!!!
It is a REALLY touchy subject in the Northwest and will be in your statehouse before long. Count on it.

awww, that's what I was afraid of hearing.....
OK. we'll concentrate on finding you a starter on one of the forums then.....SOMEONE has one. We just need to find it! LOL
CHRIS, go to classifieds HERE and post that you need one, it just might jump out at you. If you visit any other sites, do the same there OK?
-
It may still work tho. the difference could be as slight as the angle on the rope. ANY change at all with Honda generates a new part number.
It is the same engine, 3 or 4 wheels, we may be limited to 70cc ONLY, but it is still worht checking out IMHO.
It could be smaller diameter, but it will take little effort to find out. You measure, I measure, that's simple enuf.
-
OK, please start with bolt hole to bolt hole and diameter OK?
also, do you have a fast connection so we can webmail if needed? I can hook a webcam to my laptop and take it out in the garage.
-
I think we can do better than that once we narrow it down. They are out there.....
I wish you weren't clear across the country cuz I'd drive this 90/110 recoil over and see if it won't fit. [they are awfully similar in the parts pics]
-
Oh that figures!
We really need MyWifeKnowsEverything cuz he owns one of these little buggers and knows lots about them.
Unfortunately he has gone missing on us for a few days.....maybe if you pose the question on 3 wheeler world someone with more knowledge than I will know the answer.
As soon as I find out more I will let you know.
-
here's where I look up my parts:
the part numbers are different, of course, between your 70 and my atc110, but rem that Honda uses part of the part number to describe what it fits, so even with diff numbers they may be compatible. Look at the pictures and see what you think.... take it off and do some measuring and we'll do the same.
-
yes and it's the same engine I think, quite sure.
-
I just tried ebay and didnt see one....what I have done before is pick a seller with a lot of sales and send him a message- lots of ppl have stuff they are not advertising and with Christmas coming they would like the extra bucks of course....I have found several 'unadvertised' parts that way.
could it possibly be the same as a 90/110? That would be a real stroke of good luck. Check yours out closely [3 bolts?] and look at the pics on ebay, there are 2 for 90/110 for sale right now. I have a spare in the garage so if you need dimensions I can measure it for you. Perhaps we can solve this for ya.....
-
try '3 wheeler world' this is where MWKE would send you but I haven't seen him ina few days.
-
I have purchased several recoil starters on ebay for as little as $20. I would start there first. If no luck google search 'honda recoil starter' or something similar- there are SO many Hondas out there you should have no problem finding one.
Go on a bike shop site that has parts lookup and write down the number, then see if it also fits, say, a 90 or 110, something really common. That may help you a lot!
-
Sorry, but there is no way to positively tell you what's wrong without having it here to test. I don't want to tell you it's something expensive and then it's not. I gave you a couple test ideas there, see what happens!
the weird thing here is that CDIs usually crap out when they are HOT, not sitting in a garage. Did it quit while you were riding it last time? and then start after it cooled down? did you try a different spark plug? yes they fail routinely.
Please do the obvious stuff before you go spending a bunch of money OK?

The most popular mod I remember seeing on a Rancher was better tires. and a winch.
I'm sure the utility guys here will be full of suggestions......The last couple years for me have been mostly sport quads and 3wheelers....
Hey the USFS has a HUGE fleet of RANCHERS here, so they must be good right?
They used to keep us busy in the winter servicing hundreds of these rigs.
Have a good time!
-
sure if you want! just make sure they are clean and prepped so the paint will stick.
-
yes, I would stay with about 5 lbs, maybe a little less. If you overpressure them they stretch out and don't shrink back to their original size....rem my atc185 Bot? that's what happened to it.
Hopefully some nice clean oil will help the clutch.....if not after a couple more rides, change the oil again and I'll help you adjust it. it's simple.
Tell me more about this fourtrax OK? the sticker is on the sterring head [front of frame] and will have model, year and vin. I just need the model and year so we know what we are dealing with.....LOTS of Honda guys on here, I am sure you will get PLENTY of help. Don't be afraid to ask!
-
sometimes a weak battery or a starter with too much draw will do that BUT your ridw is awfully new to be having problems like that...anyone else have an idea?
-
damm right! we're gonna call it 'the break room'.
-
hey it's better than outside in the winter!
my Dad was a packrat so there is a lot of JUNK going away too hahaha. he couldn't bear to throw anything away......I'm gonna use one of the 3 bays for a man-cave myself hahaha. wood stove, convertible sofa, potty and fridge are all there....even have a converter box for my spare TV!
oops time to feeed the deer! l8r
-
Hey I got rid of about half the junk 'stored' in my garage! It filled up my dump trailer hahaha. one or 2 more trips and i'll have my garage back!
just one rule to save or crap: Have you used it in the last year? If NO den out it GO!

MWKE: funny how that happens isn't it? I was garage surfing the other day and decided to start the three wheelers up, and guess what? they all started, no complaints. and they are all nearly 40 years old now.
Good to see you back!
