  1. Looks like a fun place to go ATVing! Nice job on the video!
  2. So what kind of welder are you using? I know with my TIG, I can vary the output with a pedal, which is really handing on things like thin metal. I can adjust the puddle as needed with the foot control. Another option would be to take it in somewhere. It might not be too bad of a price if you pull it off and just bring it in somewhere.
  3. Welcome @stu1705! What do you ride or what are you into? I don't post much on here, but I really appreciate the forums when I do need an answer. There is lots of good content here.
  4. That is kind of confusing that they would change the oil recommendation. Did they give a reason for changing it a few times? Were the OEM recommendations bad or something?
  5. I have always used premium non-ethanol in my small engines. That was ever since I cleaned a carb on a little moped and saw all the gunk from the ethanol. That being said, and more related to the topic, I know a couple guys who swear by Seafoam as an additive to the gas tank. I used it in the fuel tank of a couple small engines and it seems to help.
  6. I would do this. At least a nicely padded rifle case is made for cushioning your gun/scope. It is quick and easy. As an alternative, you could possibly rig up something to bolt/latch a hard sided padded case to the rack?
  7. Hello, I am hoping to get some input from someone who knows the Wisconsin ATV laws/routes. In Wisconsin, you are allowed to ride on roads if they are a designated ATV route. In my county, that is pretty much every road in my area with the exception of the state highways. Now where I find it confusing is this... Many villages/towns have their own ATV ordinances. State highways appear to be always off limits except to cross??? Federal highways cannot be crossed??? Then there are trails. In my area, the Gandy Dancer trail is for ATV use, but only on some parts... etc. I would love to find a path along roads to get to atv trails, that are about 10-15 miles away, but I am struggling to understand the mix of rules of where I am allowed to ride. Anyway, I am looking for any resources (paper maps, apps, websites, etc) that might have a map of roadways and trails in Wisconsin and maybe a color coded key of whether you can ride there. Thanks!
  8. As someone who often gets approached for people to hunt on my land, I would say that I don't find it offensive for someone to ask. I guess the biggest thing is that the people I allowed to hunt were people that had some connection to people I already knew. I don't want somebody with no connection to the area feeling like they have nothing to lose when they act crazy. So my advice would be to find a friend or neighbor who is friends with the land owner. And stop over and introduce yourself with the friend of the owner. That will speak volumes and give you an 'in' with the land owner instantly.
  9. I also live in Wisconsin and appreciate you clarifying that. I just purchased my first (and soon to be second) ATV and need to get the state trails registration. I was not exactly sure how the title worked either so that is super helpful. I know around us, everyone uses ATVs on the road as our county allows it, and that is the other advantage to registration. If we were not allowed to use them on roads and trails, there is really no reason why I would be titling/registering in the first place. Since Mississippi does not allow operation on roads, I wonder if you could skip titling all together and save some cash?
  10. Hey Everyone! I just joined a month ago and have been browsing the forums but thought I should introduce myself. I am new to ATV ownership, having just acquired my first 'project' ATV about two weeks ago. It was a friend's 2002 Arctic Cat 500 with a burned up wiring harness. I am still working on getting that running. So we will see where that goes. But I am also purchasing a working used Yamaha ATV by the end of the week. My hope is to have a 2-3 working ones for myself and the family to use. Anyway, thank you for creating this forum! I look forward to gaining some knowledge from the community and hopefully contributing some as well!
