I had the ITP' s on when I bought my Kodiak. To start with they had a very deep tread depth and they have a pretty high ply rating. They were very good when it came to mud or snow thats for sure. On the highway noisy and a little rough. I put a sprayer on the back rack and switched it to my wife's Bruin which had a much flatter angle to its tires. The problem in my case with the Yamaha's was they have a full time rear posi-trc and when I'd turn on the ends the Itp's really cut a arch in the lawn.Depends what your purpose is but in mine as I hunt and ice fish out on the lake I preferred my Kodiak.

My ATV is what keeps me going and enjoying the great outdoors anymore. Beings I have COPD now it allows me to continue hunting and trapping and spending time like I did in my younger days. Its just a joy being out and riding the thing.

When I put mine on I put the inside a couple links tighter than the outside so they don't run so close to the brake line. Then you should drive around a bit and they'll get a` bunch of slack and retighten them on the outside. Or you could deflate some put them on tighten and blow back up. They also make elastic tighteners but I put 2 short bunge cords on each tire to keep them tight.

Used my scoop shovel today after getting stuck with front & rear tire chains.

I've got a set on front and rear right now after the recent big snow. They are the ice gripper type and I believe they were right at $50.00 from the sportsman's guide. I use them while icefishing and late muzzleloader deer hunting. That don't make them unstuckable though as the snow was packed pretty hard from drifting today. Made it thru a spot today and when I came back thru it got hung upfrom chawing the same track up. Was carrying a scoop shovel though and got her out. You could also get a set of small car chains if you can find them for cheaper and cut them down with a bolt cutter.

I have a 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 450 I bought from a John Deere dealership in 2011. Previous owner worked for them as a parts man. As he was going to put a blade on it for snow removal he switched tires right away.. He went with ITP mud lite radial tires and went from 25" tires and put 8x12x26 on all the way around. Tread pattern is like farm tractor style with just over 5000 miles on them. They are some real grippers and in fact I put a 10 or 20 gal. sprayer on the back but beings the Yamaha's have locked rear ends it barffed up the yard on the turn arounds on the end when turning around. My wife had a 2004 Yamaha Bruin with wider angled more worn out tires so I had to put the sprayer on it.The ITP's have held up very well I assume because they are radials. They are not cheap though and are getting some weather checking but plan on a couple more years of service from them. They have my vote

I see their is a little time on this post. I have the same machine but its a 2005. As already said rocking it in park does help but probably a little fine tuning the shift rod will cure it. There is a nut on each end of the`shift rod so just play with it a little, shorten or lenthen each way a little. Yes it has to be in neutral or park for the starter to work.

Iowa as of July 1 2022 became legal to drive on about every thing except the Interstate. Must have Insurance at least one headlight , stop and tail lights, rear mirror and a horn. Obey all the regular rules and maximum speed 35 mph with a DNR registration. A lot of towns have had ordinances where with a permit UTV and golf carts can run them on the street . That's the basic jist of the new law but the city's can still prevent them if they desire, odd. So that's the best news I could hear. Previous it was farmers farm to farm atv parks and on ice.

I've been using Interstate AGM batteries made for ATV's and get about 6 years out of them.

I've used a Kolpin like the picture in the first reply minus the nubs for 7-8 years and its held up and does the trick. I hunt with a T/C 50 cal muzzleloader for deer and in Iowa I have to leave it in a case until I get to where I'm going. It can be loaded minus the cap. Its in a thick case and has a red dot sight on it. It fills up the two forks pretty much but has worked very well and held up for me. I also put my gas ice auger in it for ice fishing and as heavy as that is it hasn't broken.
