    I just put a Niche carb on a Bayou 220. What a difference from the other China carb that was on it. It would not idle before. And that was a new carb My Son put on. Now it idles good and runs like a whole different quad. Much faster. I'm impressed especially for $29. I'm impressed!

    I have seen a lot of YouTube videos that demonstrate what Your saying. A lot of carbs and rebuild kits seem to be somewhat compatible but not fully. That's why My preference is the original Makuni. I Love the knowledge sharing in this site! And I appreciate the info!

    Thanks Gentlemen! I will give those ideas a try! I definitely prefer the stock Makuni over the Chinese aftermarket. I read that Niche carbs are decent. However finding one for this application appears to be difficult.

    That was actually My plan. I was going to order a rebuild kit for the original Makuni. I have tried every bit I can find for the screws on the float bowl. It's between a 2.5 &3 mm. I tried all My fractional ones too.

    Hello there I'm having a problem finding a quality carburetor for a 1993 Suzuki Quad Runner lt-f 250 2x4. I find a lot that have 3-4 star ratings. And all so far don't have the right throttle Cable inlet at the top. The last one I got 4 star on Amazon has a threaded cable sheath rest that could be partially drilled to work. I would prefer to get one I don't have to modify. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

    Riding is a awesome way of life 2 or 4 wheels! At 60-70+ years old in the dirt I like 4 wheels Myself. I'm leaving the two wheels to those young rubber men that still bounce when they hit the ground! I just lay there thinking DAM This is gonna hurt for awhile! Lol

    So I did it again! I just bought a basket case 93 Suzuki 250 quad runner. Hasn't run in a couple years. A couple different guys tried to fix it. It's going to be a project for sure. I'm sure I'll be asking questions.

    I have heard of torching the plastic, not rehydrating with armor all. It makes sense though. I also just learned of the boiled linseed oil on YouTube. You can also cut small pieces of plastic, mix them with acetone. The acetone melts the small pieces of plastic. Then You can use it to fill voids and cracks.

    I first road My Sons Bayou 220 in Aug of 21. I tore all the tendends in my rotator cuff and ripped My bicep coming down from a jump. Had surgery to repair My shoulder in the spring off 22. I know own two quads and am looking for a third! Even pain and agony can't keep Me away!

    I just had a Suzuki lt 230 quad runner do pretty much the same thing. Riding and bouncing around stirred up junk in the gas tank. I flushed it and it was fine for a couple weeks. Started doing it again , so I flushed the tank again and got more junk out of it. This time I put a inline filter in it. No more issues.

    You can use transmission fluid in the spark plug hole also if You don't have the PB or Marvel mystery oil. A once or two should be plenty. The marvels is great stuff for the gas and crank case when running as maintenance too!

    Those big smiles are definitely worth it! My Wife says I have that smile every time I ride! I can feel it in My bones! $20 is nothing compared to the feeling of finding and fixing the thing and then riding it! There is something about bringing a great old machine back to life. Enjoy the time with Your Son!

    Hello All I have a 1987 Suzuki dual range 230 and a 96 bayou 220. I'm trying to figure what oil to use. I normally put Amzoil synthetic in most everything. But I understand there are concerns over the wet clutch. I've heard rotella 10w40 full synthetic,5w40 synthetic,10w30&40 non synthetic. I do live in Michigan, so temps cold and hot are encountered. It could be below zero or 90 degrees farenhight. I don't have manuals for them. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hello All

    I just joined the Forum and this Club. I'm a retired Auto and RV Mechanic. I tinkered with Dirt Bikes in the past, but now have gotten the Quad Craze and so here I am. I hope to bring more to the table then questions, lol. I will gladly contribute were I can! I am looking for a project. I'm intrigued by the Suzuki King Quad 4x4 or a Bayou 300-400 4x4. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

    Not the first time I heard that pcdoc! Lol. Thank You All for the Welcome! I just got into Quads about 6 months ago. I just bought My second one and I think I only need two more!!! My Wife thinks I have a problem with these things! But I know The Fine People here will understand!!

    No worries? They make so many models of the lt 230 it's hard to figure. I have found the Quad Runner is a semi auto, E is electric start and G stands for shaft drive. So Mine is a Quad Runner lt 230 GE, but the Dual Range trans makes it rare. They only made them in 86&87 from what I found. But Nothing on specs. They rear suspension is just the 25x12x9 tires and I believe some rubber bushings in the frame, no shocks. I would like to find the weight, capacities, ECT. I'm also looking for a shop manual for this and My Bayou 220 Kawasaki.

    I appreciate the info! But the lt230 quad sport is completely different from Mine. This is a shaft drive utility with semi auto and a dual range transmission. No rear shocks at all. Huge back rack that connects to the foot pegs and has two plastic storage boxes mounted underneath. I can't seem to find any specs on it.

    Hello All I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
