  1. I take it this is a CVT drive with a manual shift, if so the water is probably getting in through the clutch air intake/exhaust ports, and the belt is getting wet, so it slips untill things dry out again. There should be a drain plug at the bottom of the clutch cover. If the water is not deep enough to get in there, it could also be the gasket on the clutch cover is not sealing properly.

  2. it's the moon man! i like how Reed graciously took second instead of crashing out both riders! he musta learned from the last time when he took stewart out on the last lap

Ya, i think with the two guys ahead of him in points, he figured that just finishing the race was a major accomplishment tonight lol. It's like a brand new season, the top five all have a legitimate shot at the title now!

  3. depends on what it is. I start at ebay, like Bio, then I go online and get the part number. next GOOGLE the part number and you'll find some great deals. Takes a few minutes but you can save a lot of money- many many dealers have free online parts catalogs... I just found a place for Yamaha parts that sells 25% off dealer price! I ordered some PARTS! hahaha I'll be using them more.:partyc:

Where do you get you're Yamaha parts from?

  4. I don't know how it works for other ATVs, but I tried the Pro-tec lid for my LT-R, and it was junk. K&N makes a true filter lid, it is called a power lid, it is much better than the Pro-tec lid. I personally run a stock lid with the top cut out and a piece of Outerwears material set in place with Permatex RTV Red. It works fairly well to keep mud and water out, but some water does get through when I get really wet, I find myself avoiding puddles as much as I can most of the time. You pull the stock lid off and put it back on when you want more protection from the water and such, but you have to re-jet every time you remove or put back the lid. Here is a pic of what I did to my lid. Remember, if you do modify the intake in any way to get more air, you need more fuel too, so you will need to re-jet your carb.

What were the problems with the pro tech lid? I'm looking to get an airbox lid for my raptor this summer, but need some feedback as to what everyone uses and what they think of them. More opinions from everyone would be appreciated.

  5. Another option is to take the airbox lid off if your not riding in wet conditions. That way you aren't doing any mods that aren't reversable. You can also get a airbox lid/filter combo which will drastically increase your airflow, but also keep out water and mud. Rocky Mountain ATV sells the Pro-Tech lid for around 90$.
