  1. i have heard of this. there was a couple that did it and somehow made it to canada.(i think)..give me a few to look through some stuff and i'll see if i can find the link.

maybe what your looking for...will need more research

ATV : Canadian Couple Completes Cross-Continent Quadtrek on Polaris ATVs

not exactly CO to NV but i bet the trails these folks took will almost line up with what you are looking for

I've seen that couple on the popos in dirt wheels. I should talk to my friend that told me about it and see what map he was looking at. If it does exist I think it would be a killer trip to do.

  2. One of my friend's told me that there's a trail that inter connects from Grand Junction CO and ends near Las Vegas NV. I am curious what map he was looking at and I tried to search online and couldn't find anything that off road related. Also if this does exist I wonder how long it would take since I imagine it would take a few days.

  3. yea i tried it and no luck.. but i checked the stator and found a crack in the flywheel!!! i wonder if thats the reason for no spark?? since the flywheel is basically a magneto on these kawasakies

that could be part of your issue. plus you might want to check the pick up coil is working properly that cause a lot of firing issues as well. In the manual there was a section on how to test it.

  4. So, then, is does that mean the ignition would effectively be turned on if he separated the wires? What is the point of the key switch, does it open or close a circuit to turn the ignition on?

Leave the wires open, not touching each other or the frame. turning the key on opens the stop circuit and allows the bike to run. I ran my mojave without the key and ignition switch for months just have to tape the end of the wires off so they didn't touch the frame. Other wise you'll have premature shut down or you'll be sitting there chasing your tail on why the bike wont start.

  5. does wrappin' the header cool it off any? significantly?

It acts more as a shield but it does help and helps you create more power I can't remember why though I think mike said why one time, you might wanna ask him. Plus if you wann spend some money forget heat wrapping your head pipe get it ceramic coated that works 10 times better and once the engine stops the pipe is cold to the touch.

  6. i also want to include that the key is missing , but i connected the 2 wires, could this be it??

That is your problem right there. For the mojave to run the ignition wires can not be touching each other or the chassis also check the kill swith in the run position with a multimeter you should measure infiniate ohm if you have 0 its won't allow the bike to fire. And no need to buy a manual here it is for free just make sure youblook in the back of it to see what has changed through the years. If it doesn't work let me know I have the mojave manual saved on my computer.

  7. Anyone ride this bike and have problems with how hot the exhaust gets? Mine glows red when I ride and the radiant heat is bad. Kawasaki says it's normal and the bike runs with the head pipe glowing? I don't but that. Any responses would be helpful.

Are you running the stock pipe still or an aftermarket one? With my dasa the head pipe did glow red when I was running lean I also ended up heat wrapping my pipe to help cure some of this issue, but it never glowed red with the stock. If you're running an aftermarket pipe you do need to get a fuel controller to richen the fuel map the stock controller can't compensate that much for a pipe and especially if you add an intake to the quad as well.

  8. Just like the tittle saids newb from CO to the site not to quads though. I've been riding for about 4 years now learned on an 06 honda rancher, which my family still has. Then I ended up getting a KFX450R that now is far from stock that I use to flat track race with as well as known to hit the local road course on. I also have a kawasaki mojave that I picked up to puts around on the trail on that I'll probably going to be selling since I am a bigger guy and its kinda small. Hope to see you all on the trails and if theres every any issue just remember this Willypop showed me this site :biggrin:so blame him:ack2c:
