  1. Great to hear you got it running again!! Now have some fun. Did you look at the plug and check it's condition. Sometimes with a fuel or carb problem it can effect the plug and there cheap to replace just for the peace of mind if your out on the trail. Just keep one handy if you need it.

  2. I know for me it's tuff to rate a quad by brand. For me being in my 40's I grew up riding Hondas. I wanted a yz80 as a kid but got an SL70. It still holds a place in my heart It was lots of fun & brings back great memories. But what I remember most is how durable that bike was & the suzuki, yamaha & kawasaki would breakdown more. Most of the time we SL70 riders could out run them but I would say it was more the rider then the bike. Because the 2 strokes seem too have the power advantage. Now that I'm older I know the 2strokes ran higher rpms & are faster but needs rebuilt more often than a 4 stroke. I didn't get the same service out of the cr125 as the 70 or the XL175. So now when your heart is for one brand your brain kicks in and says hold on here the other brands are good too! It kind'a falls back to what wins on sunday sells on monday. What wins the most ends up being whats considered the best at that time. It seems like I go for whats wins races more & theres more to it than just winning unless your racing. Whats your thoughts?

  3. Check where your throttle cable is installed into the carb if it had been removed when you had the top end done that it is put back togather right. And check to see if your cable is sticking for some reason. If it's running good and the adjustments screws are not changing the idle that would be a starting point to check and it's free. Look for any binding. I'm sure some others on here will help you to for things to check. Good luck with finding the problem!

  4. If your going to be riding on rough trails Why not go with a utility quad. To me a sport quad is more for tracks & open fast trails. The best of both worlds one be to own a utility & sport atv. Like I said before each style of quad has it's advantages & disadvantages You need to find what works for you we can all give our input but your the one who will be riding it. Test ride them both see what you like and dislike about each one either way you go Honda & Yamaha are great quads. It's not always about which one will out run the other one unless you plan on racing and then you need to check what upgrades are out there for each quad and compare which one would make the better racing machine. The newer utility atv's handle well and are fast quads too. The top speeds are close between the too a sport just gets their a little faster. On an mx track a sport is going to come out on top but for playing in the rough a good 4x4 utility is hard to beat. So just do your research and choose whats best for you.

  5. Thats great here in georgia we have riding parks it cost around 25.00 & up for a day 9am to 6pm and the one thats about 35mins away has very few atv riding trials it's for dirt bikes. KTM is the on site shop and rentals. Congrats on your new baby and now it's time to start an atv & college fund. My wife is from Mountain Top, Pa. I'v heard alot about Harveys lake and thats about it.

  6. So let me get this right you guys up north have passes you can buy for up to a year to go ride. Are these for one place you can ride at or does it cover more riding areas. At this time i'm mad at my wife she is from Pa. and has not shared this news with me about the atv riding up north. So the next time she tries to get me to go to Pa. for a vacation I can say only if I can take my quad. Just kidding about being mad.

  7. I have an 02 prairie 650 it has 25x12x12 rears 25x9.5 x12 fr I would like to have the same all the way around. I'm not sure If anythings been done to the clutch springs to handel the larger tires. stock size rear 25x10x12 fr 25x8x12 I wont 12x12 or 10x12 front & back. I like the extra ground clearance of the 25x12x12 I just don't know how much it would effect it to put 25x12x12 on the front if it would cause front diff or clutch problems. it seems most utlity quads have smaller tires on front from the factory but theres a pretty big height difference on mine.

  8. I'm not proud to say I am drawing disablity after hurting my back and all the pain managment treatments were tried I went under the knife Now I have a 3 level fusion L4 L5 & S1 and now suffer from a disc in my neck that caues my hands & arms to go numb. + that carpeltunnel crap. So I try to enjoy my quad while I can & some times I don't get to ride. By the way anybody use a twist throttle. I think it would be better for my hand. I had worked at Goodyear as an aligment tech. till the shop closed then went to a textile co. & got hurt there.

  9. check your fuel lines too. My daughters two stroke 90 would die when u try to give it throttle the air fuel mixture was out of adjustment. It would idle and soon as you hit the throttle it act like it ran out of gas. if you were to have a small hole or crack in the fuel line it will effect fuel supply. The ethanol in gas can cause line damage on small engines. If you were to find this to be the trouble you can buy ethanol shield from a store like walmart. I run it in my quad & lawn equipment. I know ethanol is the cause for my chainsaw, weedeater & hedge trimmers the repair shop said ethanol was what damaged the fuel lines. I don't know if it effects fuel lines on quads I just use it to be safe.
