Please Please any help -- I'm replaceing my right front half shaft and I dont know how to get the axle out...

I got the axle apart and pulled the entire unit away from the Quad - I have a complete axle to replace it. When I tapped the axle, it pulled everything away from the quad.

That's not what I wanted as the 'green egg' (that my axle slides into) came away from the differential I can't dis-attach it from my axle.

I pulled the boot back and can see the bearings in the 'green egg' but cant get the axle out of the green egg-- it wants to pull the bearings out and they wont come out either. (which is good) - I dont really want to pull that out/apart and mess with those. I wanted to pull the axle out and slip mine in.

How do I get that out???

There is a large internal snap ring just inside the housing, or "green egg" as you called it. You will need to take thie ring out, they can be a pain, but you should be able to get ahold of it and get it out with a couple of flathead screwdrivers. Once the snap ring is out, you will have to pull the internal part of the joint out with the bearing balls. Just be carfull not to drop them, they will be easy enough to put back in. Once you have the shaft and bearing center out of the housing, look on the far end behind the bearing center, there should be a small external circlip holding the bearing center on the shaft, once you get that circlip off the bearing center should slide right off the shaft.

Good morning, I am new to the forum. I'm 75 years old and love getting ATVs back to usable condition. I particularly like the 2006-2009 Arctic Cat 250 Utility. I currently own 6. The 2006 I am working on only has reverse and low gear. The "drive shaft" in the transmission is completely stripped where the high gear would mesh. Has anyone on here replaced the shaft. I'm told I have to split the case. I was hoping that someone on here could let me know how hard it will be. I already have it stripped down to where the shaft coming in from the clutch side is the only thing left. I was hoping I could just remove the driven clutch and drive it out from there. Directions say different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for two stock front wheels for 92 TRX300 2WD.   I think they are 6 x11" size.

      Background,
This winter (Dec.) I was plowing and everything just died, just quit.  No lights, no pull start, No nothing.  I've had this problem before and I changed the voltage reg and it ran fine for over a year. Then this.  So I changed it again, thinking this was the same problem.  Tried to start it and a small pin hole in the CDI appeared with electrical smoke.
Months go by and I finally decide to just replace parts (I'm Horrible at electrical issues).  I changed the stator, new CDI, new Voltage reg, new starter solenoid, tested the starter (prefect), charged the battery.
Went to start it and the solenoid rapidly clicked.  All the dash lights on, headlights work.  Pull stared it and it fired right up no issues.  Looked into the rapidly clicking starter solenoid and it was not enough juice in the battery.  Took the battery completely out and hooked up a jump box to it turned the key, light on, everything looks good.  Pushed the starter button and it fired right up ran great.  Turned it off to test it again, Turned the key and nothing.  No dash lights nothing.  Took the jump box off and pulled started it.  Started it right up.  Re-hooked the jump box, still nothing.
      Any Ideas?

I have a 1997 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4. It used to start right up. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't crank. I have a schematic for it so I started tracing the problem. I had no power at the starter solenoid. According to the schematic the power comes from the neutral switch and through the starter circuit cut out relay. I cannot locate the cut out relay on this machine.. If I apply power to the relay it will crank with the start button.
The neutral switch is hard to get to with all the brackets on this thing. I did find out from all my research that if I apply the rear brake lever it will start.
Does anybody know if the cut out relay exists and where it might be found?

Which is more reliable? Shaft or chain drive?
