Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and am hoping someone out there can help me with a no spark issue I am having with my ATV. I have the service manual and I have replaced/checked everything that I know how with the exception of the Digital Igniter Unit. Does anyone know how to test this item to verify if it is bad or not. OK, so I replaced the CDI, still no good. So, I have replaced the coil and CDI, verified my Kill switch works correctly, verified no grounds and good continuity in all of the wires. I verified I had the correct ohm readings (according to my service manual) for the pickup coil (Trigger) but have done nothing else with it. I do have a question. I have 12Vdc going to one of the contacts on the ignition coil, as it should according to my service manual. The coil is only suppose to have 3.6-4.8 ohms between the contacts so I assume I will see the 12Vdc on the other contact when connected (which I do). However, while sitting in a static condition, just for the heck of it, I checked the voltage on the spark plug cap, and I have 12vdc sitting on it, and therefore sitting on the spark plug while it is on it. Is that normal. That wire is coming off of the secondary coil and I had thought that voltage must be flowing through the primary coil in order for it to induce voltage on the secondary coil. I know a little bit about how coils work, but have no idea if that is the way that they are suppose to work on ATV's. Again, just for the heck of it, I check the voltage while trying to turn it over, and the 12vdc that was on it before just trickles down to zero. Any ideas on what to do?       91 quadrunner lt4wd shifting issue

      After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.

      O3 sat a while. Engine is running fine. I got it into neutral, did some general tune-up and cleaning then pulled the shifter pedal up and it locked up and will not release into neutral again.  Does anyone have experience with this problem?  Thanks for looking and any help.

      Bought a 88 big bear 350 4x4 took it for a run and lost spark, found it was stator so I replaced that then took it for a long run and it sat for 2 days and no spark again, this time stator tests good on ohms and voltage for source and pick up coils so I started replacing things including regulator, ignition, ignition coil and plug cap, spark plug and everything tests great including all safety switches until the orange wire for ignition coil from the cdi it only reads 3 volts so I replaced the cdi and still 3 volts, any ideas??

      Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.
       
      So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.
       
      Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

      Hello all, I have a 2006 Polaris Sawtooth with no spark. It has a dead battery but with a jump pack on it, it will still not Spark. Plug is good, Throttle ETC is not closed, Stator pick up coil seems to Ohm out in the correct range, Unsure how to properly check the CDI. And when ignition is on the Neutral and reverse light come on but after cranking just the neutral stays on. 
       
      Any help would be great,
