I havent been here in a while. Will be moving from NY to TN in the near future. Ive been searching for used atvs. How much is age a factor? Of course condition is key, but was wondering if late 90s and early 00's were worth looking at. Thanks

There are 3 things I always look at.  Number one of course is the condition, the availability and price of parts round out the top three things I am checking.

Age  is only one factor, and  it  can  be  the  least  to worry about .   An  ATV  only a couple of years  old  can  be in terrible  shape  if   used  hard  and not  maintained while  one 30  years  old can  be  in excellent shape.   I  bought  my  1991  Honda  Fourtrax 300 4x4  used  4  years  ago..  The  only  repair  I  have had to  do to  it  is replace the  rear axle and  hubs last week because the splines wore  out on them..  That  is a  very  common problem  on    the older solid axle  quads. The  motor  still  has excellent compression  and doesn't  burn  blue.  Starts with a  quick  press on the  start  button.  The transmission  and  clutch  have also  bee  problem  free.  Regular  oil  and filter  change, and  some  grease   go  a  long way  keeping  the  old  ones running  like  new.    Newer  quads have  more bells and whistles,  but  if  they  are  loaded  with electronics  they also  have more things to  break  down.  It's a lot easier to  rebuild a  carb than diagnose  and service  a fuel  injection  problem  for example. Decide  what  you want , then   go  look  at  what  fills  your bill.. Look at the condition  and see  if there  are service records .  Age   really  is  the  least of the  worries  to  consider.

I'll throw in my 2 cents,  I know a lot of guys who own the older Honda's and swear by them, also, just my opinion, a manual shift transmission is going to be less trouble in the long run.  I purposed to buy 2 '13 Ranchers with manual shift trannys because I had heard so many good things about them. Had them for two years and not a lick of trouble. FF

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

As the title says I am on the search for a used OEM 1995 King Quad Carb. I believe it says Mikuni on the side. If you could even help me find info on which carb it is exactly that would be helpful too, or motorcycles/other quads that use the same carb. Thanks!

      Hi everyone,
I often work on both ATVs and larger construction equipment, and I’m always on the hunt for solid OEM manuals—service, repair, and parts. The usual searches give a lot of random PDFs or unofficial scans that aren’t very trustworthy.
What online sources do you all use when you need a factory manual quickly? Are there sites you’ve found that consistently provide genuine OEM content for ATVs or heavy machinery?
I recently came across Heavy Equipment Manual, which claims to provide verified OEM service and parts manuals (covering brands like Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kubota, etc.). Has anyone here tried it, or do you have other go-to resources you’d recommend?
I’m interested in options that are:
      ·        Fast to download
      ·        Cover both heavy equipment and ATV models
      ·        Clear on licensing and safety
Thanks for sharing your experiences and any recommendations!

Hello my name is David, I have been riding for over 30 years ATV, dirt bikes, S x S you name it. I ride with a small group off and on though out the years. Currently, we have only three of us that have been riding this year and we are looking for more people to join us!
If you're in the Northern California area and looking for people to join on weekend and day trip rides send me an email: [email protected]! We have been to many OHV sites all over the state and we usually try to meet up for a ride once a month.
I look forward to hearing from you!

The family has two quads and have been asking where to ride around here- we are about 70 miles north of spokane and looking for places that are nice to go visit for beginners.
We have a 2003 Polaris sportsman, and a 2004 Artic Cat 2-up (I forget the size)
