On the bottom of my carb there is a vent line and I have no idea where it hooks up. It's poring out gas weather it's running or not. I have a plastic bottle to catch the gas out of it. Can anyone help me please? Thanks

I  searched  on your  carb  and it  appears   it  is  a float bowl  drain  hose (if  I  got the right  carb in my search)  there  should be  a  screw  to  close  the  drain. If it  is  right ,  close  the  screw.   Looks  like  it   is there  to easily  drain  any  water  out  of the carb if  you   get some  contaminated  gas.

There is a screw plug right by it and it's tight. The diagram shows that tube goes to a clear tube does .that tuibe go back to the the fuel tank? It don't say where it goes to other than a clear tube. Thanks for the post

The  clear  tube  was used  to  show the  fuel  level  in the  float bowl. it  is  not  part  of the  installation .. To  use  it , the  screw  would be  backed out to allow  fuel  to fill the  hose .. Since  liquids will  seek   an  equilibrium  level,  it  is an  easy  way to  see  just where  the fuel  level in the float bowl  is when  chasing  carb  problems .  That  screw would   normally shut  off   fuel  to the   line  except when  draining the float bowl or   using that  trick to  see the level  the  floats  are  actually holding  in the  carb... It  could be  low causing  fuel  problems,  or  with the  fuel tank  above  the carb,  it  could  show that the  float needle valve is  leaking  allowing  the  catb to  flood  and  leak.

If  the  needle  valve  is  in tight  and fuel  is still  leaking from that   line , I would say  the the  needle  seat  is damaged  and allowing  the  leak.  With that  screwed in all the  way there  should be  no  fuel  getting into that  line .

This usually happens when the float in the carb is stuck in the down position. It's meant to not flood the engine so it comes out of the overflow tube. You can try to tap the side of the bottom portion of the carb and it should pop the fioat back to its normal position. This however should be looked at. Take the carb apart and adjust the float it's a little technical with regard to how the adjustment is done but can be walked through.  Also the float can have a puncture and is sunk in the bowl thus allowing fuel to flood the bowl.  Or something holding the float pin open.

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

      Background,
This winter (Dec.) I was plowing and everything just died, just quit.  No lights, no pull start, No nothing.  I've had this problem before and I changed the voltage reg and it ran fine for over a year. Then this.  So I changed it again, thinking this was the same problem.  Tried to start it and a small pin hole in the CDI appeared with electrical smoke.
Months go by and I finally decide to just replace parts (I'm Horrible at electrical issues).  I changed the stator, new CDI, new Voltage reg, new starter solenoid, tested the starter (prefect), charged the battery.
Went to start it and the solenoid rapidly clicked.  All the dash lights on, headlights work.  Pull stared it and it fired right up no issues.  Looked into the rapidly clicking starter solenoid and it was not enough juice in the battery.  Took the battery completely out and hooked up a jump box to it turned the key, light on, everything looks good.  Pushed the starter button and it fired right up ran great.  Turned it off to test it again, Turned the key and nothing.  No dash lights nothing.  Took the jump box off and pulled started it.  Started it right up.  Re-hooked the jump box, still nothing.
      Any Ideas?

I am trying to diagnose a no spark issue with my 02 Big Bear 400 and I am really hoping it is not a CDI.  I have done the test on the stator and I believe that is faulty.  I ordered a new aftermarket one from a the jungle website and it tested bad right out of the box so I am waiting for a different one to arrive from an ATV parts supplier.  I started looking out of curiosity at CDI units and it seems if it is for a big bear you are SOL.  Kodiaks, no problem.  Big Bear. No such luck.
