Late 90's Yamaha badger periodically won't start

Recommended Posts

My son has a late 90's badger that periodically won't start. It has spark and is getting gas. The battery is good and rolls easily. Any suggestions would be great.

When you say periodically will not start, do you mean it cranks but doesn't catch? If so, it could be fuel or spark and I would check choke operation, air filter, and lastly and possibly a carb rebuild.  If it's the carb and you don't want to rebuild it, you can buy new for around $80 on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Carburetor-Yamaha-Badger-Carb-Carby/dp/B00KLKUVR6

It cranks every time. Anytime I have pulled the plug and checked for spark it has it. The same with gas. It might start today but not tomorrow.

Is the plug black or white or brown?

Black = rich

White = lean

Brown = right
