Carb Pilot Screw Adjustment

Hi,

This might be a dumb question, but can you adjust the carburetor pilot screw on a '99 King Quad while the carb is on the atv?  There doesn't look like there's much clearance between the pilot screw and the cylinder head to get a screwdriver in there (if I'm looking at the right screw).  The engine runs pretty good; there's just a slight hesitation in the lower rpm ranges.

The pilot screw is located inside the bowl of the carb.  I think the one that you are describing which is located on the underside of the carb is the screw that you use to drain the gas out of the bowl. You have to loosen and turn the carb to remove the bowl to adjust it.

Cacrwlr, I apologize. The pilot screw is just outside of the carb bowl toward the front of the atv. I for it mixed up with one of the other ones. You do have to turn the carb to adjust it though. It's a pain.

I'm in the same boat....they DO make a screw driver that accepts different bits that is on a flexible shaft, just like the idle speed screw that pushes the butterfly open via a cable that bends 90 degrees under the carb to the right side of the engine (at least it does on 2000 quadmaster 500)
