i was thinking the same thing.

i was thinking of trying to use it like a universal.

chop off. slide on.

but if i cant do that i will buy the HPD header. which is the same brand.

but its 50$ and its normally 90 cause its nickle plated..

so what do you think?

idk if it will help cause i dont know much about polaris's...but i was having a hard time getting air into my airbox, i kept stalling and it was annoying as all can be...

we took a torch, heated up the middle of the airbox lid and bent it over so its covering the goods but letting more airflow into the quad :)

Good Idea.

Wheeler, I haven't done it. I looked at my lid and it makes PERFECT sense. I'm gonna wait and see what my guy will charge me to rejet. I don't like touching carbs.

Scott, I never even thought about that. I bet if you made 3 layers, spray some foam filter oil on the middle one and stretch all 3 across the air box with no lid. That would be a great pre-filter.

I was going to say it can't be good for your tires... The only other thing I can think of and it is probably not

that likely is some kind of axle problem if you do a lot of fast turning. A car has a differential. Even cars that

are suppose to have a solid rear axle have the differential so when turning your wheels will turn at different

speeds so you don't break something or get a bunch of wheel hop. Your quad doesn't have a differential. Again

I don't think it is likely you will break something. I ride my quad on the street too.

The thing is, it is not doing anything different than it does on the dirt. When you turn hard and fast on dirt your inside rear wheel will generally lift off the ground. Not during a power slide but when it is hooked up through the turn. On pavement I think you would destroy the out side of your rear tires.

welllll that got ot quick lol

so yeah i have been thinking and not much money is coming in. so i think im waiting untill the bday and xmas to pour money into it. because i will be sidetracked with cars and "such" for the next coming years i shouldnt pour too much money into the quad now. and just wait and buy a bigger when i get a job.

but im still doing things to it.

when i get my money from xmas and bday..which will be about 400$ i am buying that RCR stage 1 kit. airbox vents, filter, exhaust, clutching, jetting. and ill have about 75$ left. what to do with the 75$ is what my next problem is. i can see the CDI, bore the stock carb, change gearing and lighten the flywheel happening..but which is the question. any ideas?

I am unable to find a wiring diagram for this UTV.  When I turn the switch to on, the contractor does not engage.  The Brake pressure switch and the parking brake switches work correctly. What else should I be looking for?  All of the diagrams I have found are for newer models and the wire color coding is different.

      Thanks

Hello all, I have a 2006 Polaris Sawtooth with no spark. It has a dead battery but with a jump pack on it, it will still not Spark. Plug is good, Throttle ETC is not closed, Stator pick up coil seems to Ohm out in the correct range, Unsure how to properly check the CDI. And when ignition is on the Neutral and reverse light come on but after cranking just the neutral stays on.

      Any help would be great,

      Thanks!

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.
My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on.
We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best.
Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread.
Thanks for your help and ride safe.
BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks
