Ok got a quad if a mate that's helped me out a few times said I look at it for him

Been sat for 6 years in a barn checked spark and also changed the spark plug after a sonic clean of the carb started and started easy but when you use the throttle it bogs and near dies

Now this unit has 2 tanks one for oil and one for fuel for the moment I'm bypassing the 2 tanks and using only a fuel mix direct in to the carb could this be causing the problem ?

I've done a second clean and refitted and still the same even as the air screw was near fully in it was said from watching a few vids that is was starving of fuel so I've increased the pin on the throttle up a notch but still no difference

There is not much adjustments on the carb so assume there's not much to go wrong but I was going to buy another carb but I can't find the right one here a pic of the actual carb

I would get a new carb but I spent days looking on line for the same one they dont seem to make it any more I assume

It's a mini Corp tm13 16479 that's all the details on the carb that brings up nothing on an Google search i even just typed in to Ebay mikuni carb and sent through the whole lot the first pic is of my carb the second pic is the closest match so say for a 100 cc but it's got an extra pipe on(see my finger pointing to the extra pipe compared to mine) it does this make a difference some people have said it's a drain pipe but I cant spend 30 quid for it to be wrong

That is the right carb for the bike I also found the extra vent line.  I was not sure what it was for since the old one on the bike didn’t have that line. So I bought it anyway and plugged that line. Just a small piece of hose with a screw in the end.   The oil injection lobe was perfect and the everything else matched up. The only issue I had was it took me a long time to tune it and dial it in. But it worked. Here is one on e bay

wheen you say setting up a bit hard what do you mean im assuming there set up to start as in the box just needs tweeks to get running right

or would not start untill  you got the fuel and air near right before it would start

It will fire right up most likely but the as you try to ride you may come across a point in the throttle that the bike bogs (flat spot)or slows down.  It’s just a mixture set up on the carburetor that takes time and testing to get right.

Nope. I just kept playing with it until I found the happiest place. I got it to 95% and left it at that. Ran good the only issue was at full throttle for a good run she couldn’t stay there that long with out bogging down. After I let up off the throttle a little bit she cane right back.

Not bypassing brother.  Like a bike I had and ordered a carburetor for there was an extra port. For what I had no clue. The carb was a perfect match aside from that port. So I plugged it with a piece of hose with a plug on the end.

I wouldnt bypass the tanks if its self mixing

ive gone back to a heath robinson idea and using 2 syringes one for the oil direct in to the pipe with the top off and one for the fuel with the top off direct to the carb

any how new carb installed started fine 3rd kick but when you try to add ant throttle it just bogs and slows to a near stop it does not move the bike at all just a wobble same as before so back to trying to find the problem

ordered a compression tester any one got any idea what compression a 100cc should ruff have ?

best i can get out of it is 85 90psi in the bore with the throttle open not warm i expect this to be down a bit as things get warm

if seen higher psi on 2stroke strimmers and chain saws

My 1992 TRX00 recently stopped firing.  I understand this is a common problem. I have ordered an aftermarket CDI unit.    TJ

Hey all, new to the forum! I just bought a 1998 Kawasaki bayou 300, 4x4 not running. Initially I found no spark. Ended up playing with the plug wire (made sure plug top and wiring was touching) and got spark yesterday and the quad fired up off ether. Come to work on it today and now no spark again. Before I got spark and now today if I touch the plug after cranking I get shocked, and it will spark after I release the starter button. I was jumping the quad with a freshly charged car battery that has 12v while cranking. Cleaned out the kill switch and ignition button. All looks good. Purchased new plugs. They're are a lot of wires cut/ disconnected. But shouldn't matter if I got spark without them connected...

Hi All.  I introduced myself some weeks ago with my 2006 LT-F400F that needed a list of repairs including replacing the cracked generator cover.  It is back together as of last night and cranks up, idles and revs high pretty well.  Needs some fine tuning and stop backfiring at stop.
The big issue is it will not go into gear.  I reassembled the insides with help from y’all’s posts.  The transfer selector moves from H-L-R, and the foot shifter moves thru the gears and finds neutral easily enough.  Before I tear it back open, the  transfer selector on top does not move as far as the repair manual says.  The diagram shows the shaft moving something like 40 degrees between L and H and 50+ degrees between L and R but it doesn’t move that far even though it finds the indent areas and moves well.
Could this be the problem.  I aligned all the dots on the shifter gears inside and it appeared to not be binding anywhere.  I do hear the gears touching when I shift like they are trying to engage, but zero movement from the ARV
It was somewhat difficult to tell whether all the parts are installed on each shaft.
Are there better/bigger photos somewhere that would allow me to be confident I included all the washers and bushings, etc?  If I had any doubt on parts that were laying inside after the cover broke then I purchased replacements from online stores.
TIA for any input or feedback!!  Pics are from when I first took the generator cover off.

      1989 Moto 4 YFM350ERW intermittent spark.
Quad has set for about 7 years and was running when parked.  When I replaced the battery and attempted to start it had no spark.

What I have done.  Followed troubleshooting in the manual.
      1.       Coil failed the resistance check so I replaced it.  Still no spark.
      2.       I performed resistance checks on the stator and they all pass.
      3.       Found a bad rear brake stop switch and unplugged it and connected the wires in order to disable.  Now I have intermittent spark.  I believe that the issue is with either the stator or CDI and not sure which.
1989 seems to be a transition year for electrical.  I can get new aftermarket CDI units for 87-88 and 90-94.  I cannot get ones for a 89.  I can get new stators for 87-89 and 90-95.  Looking at the schematics the wiring on my moto is closer to the 90 ones on the ATV side of the CDI and closer to the 87-88 on the stator side of the CDI.  Looking at part supply sources the stator housing is the same part # for all the years and looking at some of the stators on Amazon that have the dimensions on them both of the stators are the same size.
What I am thinking of doing is to replace the stator and CDI with a 90-95 one as these parts are all readily available.   Does anyone know if this has been tried before and if there are any issues with doing this.
As a side note I also have a 1993 Moto 4 YFM350ER that has been sitting longer but it is located about 400 miles from me at this time.  By doing this change in addition to being able to get parts I will also have 2 ATV’s that are the same electrically.
