so turned out to be the CDI.Ibet if you know someone with same quad switch it and bet it starts easy each and every time.Mine took a few years until no more spark.Perhaps keep a spare plug around as bet  you see no spark.I only wish I knew this when mine started giving me issues.I also tried the oven trick but never helped one bit. Also must be off same qurd motor size so no testing with other either.Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense but I almost falling asleep while writing this post bro.Hope it helps but my cdi lasted for many years but the replacement was like 220.00 Canadian. The dealer even had ne in stock which was so nice for me as the recyclers had none so had to buy new which when it worked it was so nice again.ÙBest quad or should I say tank wish they still made them so tough.Good day & good luck.

That’s good news brother.
It hurts having to pay that much money for a part but you can’t go wrong with an oem cdi.
It’s a solid state component and can’t be tested unfortunately.  Anyway I’m glad it worked out for you ride safe.

I am unable to find a wiring diagram for this UTV.  When I turn the switch to on, the contractor does not engage.  The Brake pressure switch and the parking brake switches work correctly. What else should I be looking for?  All of the diagrams I have found are for newer models and the wire color coding is different.

      Thanks

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks

MY MAX 4 6X6 2009, now this will actually go anywhere including across the water. In the 3rd photo I had gone up the river about 30 meters then climbed up the bank, 6X6 owners call it "swimming"

Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage
