So we have a grizzly 450 and it has a few issues. It's the main work quad now that my brother's Kodiak has started burning oil from wear. (It's got probably 4000-5000 miles on it)

One issue with the grizzly is the 4 wheel drive doesn't kick out. We haven't really investigated into it but long story short the 4 wheel drive is permanently engaged. Before it just kicked in and out sporadically, now it just stays in 4 wheel drive permanently. The issue this brings is the quad burns through gas like mad, it goes through a whole tank in a week.

It also needs a tube in the tire, but that's a lot easier to solve.

The kodiak has had a lot of travel, with almost no issues.

The grizzly is a 2013, I think. My quad sat for 4 years so we got the grizzly to replace it. The 4 wheel drive is a button on the handlebars, so it's electronic. Most of the safety switches have been bypassed, including the neutral switch and the Brake switch. Everything works except the 4 wheel drive.

Ok well it’s most likely something to do with the wiring then.  I don’t think it’s mechanical and more so electronic. Best bet is to start looking at and studying the electrical diagram and highlight all wires related to the 4x4 change over.  I can give you a hand with that once you know for sure the year.  Check the vin# and run it. See what comes back.

Then we find the right  manual and start to dissect the electrical diagram and you can do some testing if your familiar with using a tester.  Maybe start with the push button changeover and make sure it’s working and go from there.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

I rebuilt the carb on said machine. When I hook up the auxiliary gas tank it runs fine and everything is cool. When I put the fuel tank on and hooked up the lines, it completely flooded the cylinder and even about an inch of fuel in the air box. I'm pretty sure that it comes from the little hose on the petcock and hooks to the top of the carb. WTH is that even for? I mean the thing runs fine on the auxiliary tank, so idk And on the petcock when it's in the "on" position, I get no fuel. The petcock from the bike I took it apart and checked out how it operates. The sharpie marks indicate how it really works. Now the other petcock w/o the sharpie marks is an old one that was leaking that I removed from a Polaris quad. It's exactly the same thing, except the small hose and nipple have been removed. I'm so confused, LOL

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?
