Trail rated 4 seat SxS?

Recommended Posts

I’m looking at breaking into the SxS scene and really want a 4 seater. BUT I also would like one that is 50” trail capable as well. I have small kids that need seats so we can all go play at one time. Looking around I’m just not seeing that there is one out there. Does anyone know if they do in-fact exist and maybe I’m just missing it?

Thanks for the help...

I’m assuming your referring to a 6x6 ?

I’ve only seen a few come by here and there and look cool as heck but it’s a once in a while post.  They do accommodate up to six or four people

As far as the 4 seater well there are many types and brands that you would not need a 6x6 for. But if your  hell bent on that take a look at Polaris

Good luck

Side by side ahh ok. Never seen SXS before as an abbreviation.

A four seater less then 51” I think I’ve seen some that narrow but they were more of the utility type not sporty.

Check out this review page. You can click on each of the links on each manufacturer for the specs.

The maverick is 50”

im a huge fan of polaris' RZRs.  i think they are mostly 60in to 70in wide..  the turbo s velocity is their latest model- pretty high dollar but it can sure go fast.  i dont think you will find many 50in sxs out there because being that narrow posses a roll threat..  whats keeping you at 50in?  polaris also sells rangers with are work geared and the general which is pretty much a rzr with a dump bed..  hope this helps!

but@Frank Angerano is right- you can fit a bunch of people on the polaris big boss- they still make them i think..

The 50” requirement is for use on National Forest Service trails that are width restricted at 50”. I would like to be able to get up on those trails and up in those areas for hunting. Plus it’s off the beaten path in areas that the bigger UTVs, Jeeps, etc aren’t allowed in.

ohhh  i see.  well most of the time they dont make sxs that narrow to prevent roll-overs.  so the 570 rzr is 50in wide but only a two seater.  there is a 570 ranger 4 seater but its 60in wide.  the most narrow rzr 4 seater is also 60in wide.  i was just looking at polaris' website for this, maybe theres others out there but i'd guess the width would end up about the same..

In the while ATV universe there are only maybe 5 SXS's that are trail width rated. Polaris has one rzr 570, Honda pioneer 500, can am maverick trail, artic cat/textron wildcat trail, and cf moto offers one in a 570 and 700 trail. None of these however offer a 4 seat. I too want a sxs in a trail width so that I wouldn't be hindered by any restrictions, but with the lack of options available I don't know if it's a possibility. Have you thought of buying 2 2up atvs? One for you and one for the wife, one kid rides in back of each. Most of the major brands offer a 2up ATV right now. The base Polaris 570 2up is built on the same frame of a regular 570 machine, but instead of a rear rack it has a seat. Two of those would probably cost about as much as a sxs. They also have one with a longer wheelbase and better passenger seat. I drive a cat TRV (two rider vehicle) ATV and it's done everything I've ever asked of it.

I have considered it and am looking at all those options now. I think the regular wheelbase one will be fine since my kids aren’t big yet. Maybe get one of each, regular and long wheelbase. I’m not made of money and trading one in a couple of years down the road because my kids grew up isn’t a great option.

So.. it a weird one.. The quad surges as you go down the road. By the looks of my tracks, it's one wheel only. High range, low range, 2 wd , 4 wd.. It just doesn't matter..
You can see in the pictures the marks it leaves. That was in a straight line, with hardly any acceleration.
      Any ideas?

      Hello,
I have a 2022 Honda Rubicon and I have an issue where it won’t start, when I turn the key for power nothing lights up and it won’t start but the lights will turn on with the light switch, I’ve checked all fuses and they’re good, I don’t have a wiring schematic I’m not sure where to start, I checked the ignition fuse when I turn the key on and there’s no voltage there, I used a jumper wire from the batter to the top of the ignition fuse and then it works fine and starts fine but as soon as I turn the quad/key off it won’t start again until I jump the ignition fuse with battery power, just wondering if anyone could give me some tips where to go with this or if anyone has had the same issue, thank you.

I just saw a video on TikTok where some guy took the rear end off an ATV and bolted on a roto tiller in place of rear wheels. I wish i saved that video to post here....good thing it was 4 wheel drive...lol but, it seemed to work.
I'm not sure how he made it bolt on to the drive....
