1997 Beg Bear got stuck in 2nd Gear when parked on slight hilll

My 1997 Beg Bear got stuck in 2nd Gear when parked on slight hill, otherwise in perfect shape. Trying to get it into neutral, by rocking it back and forth won't release out of gear.

Any suggestions, It's my work horse and I keep it in to shape, got to get it running..

Have you tried to rock it and switch gears while it’s running or not running? 

If so and it didn’t work then try to get the rear wheels off of the ground and see if that works.  

That bike is full time 4x4 correct ? 

 

I always put my parking brake on when on a hill, tough to remember to do but you will remember after a while.

      I have a kymco mxu 250 automatic from 2006 250 cc  that keeps going forwards or backwards when i shift backwards or forwards an then shift to neutral .
      if i shutdown the motor and push the quad and restart then its in neutral and don't go forwards or backwards, i already checkt if my motor is running good stationairy .
       
      what can it be or what can i do to fix this?

      Any body have a part number for replacing the safety interlock on the left brake so you can start the engine with the brake handle pulled and in gear
      or how to bypass this function so you can start in gear

      The battery on my Big Bear drops completely down in the battery compartment nothing sticks up to grip too, plus there is only 1/8" clearance along the sides, no way to get a grip on it to pull up out of battery compartment. I thought about putting a piece nylon strap under the battery and leaving enough up each side to give me something to pull it up out ff the battery compartment or using a big zip tie around the battery.
      Any others have any ideas or have had this issue.

      HI everyone. New to this forum. I have 98 Kawasaki Bayou 400 with an apparent electrical issue. I have the Clymer manual, but I am not exactly sure where to start. The issue started a month ago and the neutral light would go on and off intermittently. Eventually it went completely off , and I thought it was a shifting issue. I took the case off and checked the clutch and all mechanical shifting components are good, so I think I eliminated that. The switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Last time I tried, I did hear a clicking sound near where the battery is right before the light went out. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Hoping this is an easy fix.
