I am hoping one of you knowledgable people can answer this for me. I have a yfm200 moto 4 engine I want to put in an off road go kart. I would like to mount a sproket where the drive exits the case before the u joint so that I can get rid of drive shaft and make engine bay compact. To do this I would mount engine 90° to axle but would also need to tilt it forward 15° to account for the angle the drive exists rear of casing. Would that be ok? Would oil pump etc still work. Any advice greatly recieved.

while 15 degrees doesn't seem like much, i wonder if that would affect the pickup tube or oil draining back down the cylinder.  I would doubt there is a clear answer to that question.  Maybe take the clutch cover off, tilt it 15 degrees and give it a look?  Sounds like a neat project though!

That's great advice. Ill have a look behind the clutch cover.

It's to replace an old honda c90 engine we are currently using. Bit under powered and desperately need reverse in our property.

Thank you again. Much appreciated.

Is there room in where the pickup tube goes to add in a baffle? Another option would be to modify the pickup tube. Wouldnt think 15 degrees would cause any crank oiling issues, but haven't gotten that far into the engine yet on our YFM200...

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

Which is more reliable? Shaft or chain drive?

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

Regarding a 1988 Moto 4 200. I see there is a brake switch behind the left brake lever on handlebars, but only a single filament bulb in the taillight. Do these have brake lights or just taillight?

When you and a group of friends decide you want to take a long group trip of camping/riding/overlanding, how far are you willing to drive for your trip? Right now, i find it really difficult to want to drive more than 2-3 hours one way.
