  1. Vote here for the Battery Tender jr, I use one for the vette in the winter and have another one for miscellaneous battery related stuff (mower, etc) to charge when parked for extended periods. Like the ease of use for multiple battery connection types with the quick connect adapters they offer. They've always worked perfectly on anything I've needed them for.
  2. Also may be interested in other parts, haven't started stripping it down to the bare frame yet so I'm sure there will be more I end up needing before the end...
  3. Best thing I ever did was get a set of off road dedicated wheels for hunting. I've used both quads and UTVs, wouldn't go back to trashing a much more expensive pickup (especially now) nor packing everything in. Definitely get yourself a plug/patch kit with a 12v compressor and a spare tire/wheel if you can swing it, losing a tire 5 miles out from my pickup was all I needed to convince me it was worth the extra investment!
  4. Looking for the following items: - Air filter box (including carb to box and box to frame tubes, filter holder, and cap) - Side plastics that cover fuel tank I've had no luck anywhere finding these two items, any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Great to see folks talking about these, buying them, and sharing ideas for setups etc. I had one when we lived in NV and, unfortunately, moved back east due to job circumstances and never got to take it out and use it. Bought it brand new and picked it up at the factory in Salt Lake City the day it was finished. The folks that make them are great and take a ton of pride in their work. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the 6x8 I had was light enough that I could haul my Polaris Ranger 900 on top, unhook it from the truck, and pull the Jumping Jack up into the mountains for hunting season and not destroy my truck in the process. Made it possible to get into areas usually only horse guides could get into to setup camp. Really surprised that they gave up on the east coast, everyone I've talked to has never even heard of them and loves the idea. Might seem pricey with options added on, but price out a nice high quality canvas tent and all the fixins to go with it, plus figuring out how to haul that along with your gear out to a camping spot, and the price really starts to make sense. I had lots of plans for mine, just didnt get to realize them, it's great to read through threads like this and see folks making it happen!
  6. Is there room in where the pickup tube goes to add in a baffle? Another option would be to modify the pickup tube. Wouldnt think 15 degrees would cause any crank oiling issues, but haven't gotten that far into the engine yet on our YFM200...
  7. What oil are you guys using in the rear diff? About to do a full service on our 88 YFM200DXU and planned to go get the oil/supplies this weekend.
  8. Joined up today after my neighbor gifted our family a 1988 Yamaha YFM200DX for the boys to ride around in the yard. It's in decent shape but needs a good bit of things fixed to be a safe machine for the kids to learn how to ride. Ordered a bunch of OE and aftermarket parts today to start the rebuild/reconditioning process and have the machine stripped of it's plastics currently. Debating on stripping it down to the frame and doing a full restore on it, just not sure if the boys will be willing to wait that long to ride it around. Neighbor replaced a lot of parts on it, including the carb, which leaks fuel when the tank petcock is left on, thinking this may just be a float issue. Also, as it currently sits, it will not run under load but will idle fine. Going to take the carb apart to clean and inspect it, drain the tank and clean it, then go from there. Lots to do for sure, open to any suggestions if anyone has dealt with similar issues and found the culprit. I've worked on cars for a long time and this is the first 4 wheeler I've owned, so learning as I go.
  9. Perfect, thanks a ton! Now I just need to get to the 10 post requirement to download files...
  10. New to the forum, looking for a manual for a 1988 YFM200DX. Neighbor gifted it to me and starting the process of rebuild/reconditioning it with my boys before teaching them to ride. Thanks for the help!
