Hey guys I'm new here. I have a 88 warrior that has intermittent spark. When I got the bike the guy said it needed a stator.  So I tested the stator and the Source coil has .310,  Trigger coil has .363 an .367,  Alternator side has .05 to .06 on the three. Which all seem in range. I did find that the ignition coil was bad and replaced it. After I  put the new coil on i got spark but only now and then. The bike won't spark while I'm holding the start button,  but as soon as I let off it will spark sometimes. I ended up unplugging the voltage regulator and it will spark every time I let off the start button, but still will not spark while I'm  holding it. What could this be?

Most likely CDI.  Normally when you get spark when releasing the start button that's not actual spark but instead is residual voltage bleeding off from the starter circuit.  You can always try baking the CDI for 5 minutes or so at 250 and see if it'll start then.  CDI's usually go bad when the ceramic in the capacitor gets cracked and it gets a bit of moisture.  If it'll start after that, you know it's the CDI and time to get a new one.  Don't buy the cheap $30 chinesium one though, those are only about 2 out of 10 good new in box.

That makes sense with the residual voltage. I tried baking the cdi today and nothing changed. Do you have any suggestions on which is a good company to get a new CDI box from?

Rick's CDI is the best for Honda by a mile, maybe google and see if there is one for yours? Otherwise good 2nd hand OEM from ebay or new if still available on Partzilla, Babbitts etc. The chinese cheap ones are just terrible. I've had good luck with good 2nd hand OEM parts on ebay

Hello I just bought my son a 1998 kingquad 300. The brakes do not work but other than that we just want to learn all we can about it.  To keep it up and going.

      Hello.
I'm new to the forum, I live in the UK. I have just bought a 1995 Yamaha Moto 4 350.
Generally the condition isn't too bad (I paid very little for it!), it looks quite original and all the plastics are quite good. The bad bits are no brakes, the rear axle bearings are shot and the transmission won't shift through the gears properly.
I'm not planning on a full rebuild but I would like to sort it out a bit. The transmission is my main concern. If anyone has any ideas on what might be the cause I would be grateful. I can explain what's happening in more detail if required.
      Thanks everyone,
      Kester

:GEEK:Hello Riders---I want to buy a new atv to ride trails with. Iam 68 years old and have had atv for a lot of years now. I have a Grizzly 600 and a Polaris 325 trail boss now and want to sell them and get a new ride. I know years ago there was a big differance in Atv but the new ones seem all alike. I would like something around 500 cc. Is there one out there that stands out better than all the rest. Iam not a real hard ridder but I like to use it for what they are made for. Thanks Chuck

Hey all, just posting to introduce and get ball rolling on the required number of posts to download a freakin manual. Recently picked up an 86 LT230S for $800, runs OK and kids having some fun on it so far, but it needs some work. I did an oil and filter change, other than a rough idle it's not bad, ordered some new front tires as those are thrashed, and getting left rear looked at as it has a slow leak and was somehow mounted backwards! Not sure how that happens and nobody noticed. Anyway, yeah sure I'll be posting more specific questions as I get into it, hope to just have it solid enough for kids to rip around at grandpas.
