2017 Polaris Sportsman 450 HO Automotive Fuel Injector

I'm retired, live in north Peru and recently bought a 2 year old 450 sportsman HO 2017 with 20,000 miles on the clock. It has been part of a fleet for agricultural commuting and has had proper maintenance as it still looks

and runs pretty good. Checking out for the efi parts i found the fuel injector was not stock and lifted with 2 bushings to make parts fit. Does anyone know if there is an automotive fuel injector that might fit, with the same flow rate and specs,as polaris parts

are nearly impossible to get here. Nowhere on the internet  can i find cross reference parts from Bosch or Delphi as polaris part numbers appear to be a captive market.

Would greatly appreciate some advice

Regards,  Robbie

  • Admin changed the title to 2017 Polaris Sportsman 450 HO Automotive Fuel Injector

I was intrigued by this and found that the OEM Polaris injector fits multiple models.

Here it is on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/POLARIS-Inj-Fuel-Ev14compact-200G-2521068/dp/B078WGFBM3?ref_=nav_signin&

Polaris Fuel Injector, Genuine OEM Part 2521068, Qty 1

Here it is on Bikebandit: https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/polaris/2521068/b2942206

Polaris INJECTOR, FUEL Part # 2521068

There are a bunch of aftermarket ones available but as far as Automotive injectors maybe start by looking at:

Standard FJ1116
BWD 67723

Not sure if the specs are the same though.

***This is in no way a confirmation of direct replacement for OE and just a suggestion on where to possibly start***

Thanks AJM, at least i have learnt this is no rocket science, since its a matter of finding the right one by specs and size. For an old timer mechanic electronics has been an issue for many years.

By living in a country where you need to make your repairs with whats available, electronics has taken our independence away.In a metric world I have noticed Polaris still uses good old american hardware,i guess

Americans are reluctant to change to metric as the english were forced to. South americans grew up with both (lol)

having an issue with the unit when running under a load up a hill or in high gear, seems like the belt is slipping, there is a clapping sound coming from the primary clutch like it releases and snaps back in. i don't think I should have a noise like that. this is a friends unit and he has already replaced the primary twice with the same result.
not sure where to look next

I cant seem to find what this part is called. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I must be misinterpereting the parts catalog or something? I dont see it in the rear axle section. I think it may be in the rear brake assembly section? click link to view picture.

I see quite a few ads for that  Tribotex additive. It's kind of expensive, has anyone used it it their ATV or any other vehicle?

      Hi,
Got a Big Boss produced 2016 YM 2017 that gives DTC 520 285 2 (random)
What I understand is correlation code for brakesensors, very little information in workshop manual.
Removed front plastic to discover that no connector was mounted on the brake pressure switch!?
The only "brake" information seems to come from the micro switch at the brake lever.
Does anyone know if Polaris does anything special on the 6x6 or had this issue?
