Finally got some time to drag it up out of the weekds and do a little work on it. What I thought was a stuck-in-gear issue turned out to be a stuck-in-brake issue LOL. Just needs some TLC. Thinking of replacing fenders and such with some custom aluminum diamond plate panels. Salvaged a bunch from a pickup tool box I acquired.

They are badly cracked, but still in one piece. Someone tried plastic stitching/welding them but that failed. After working on it some more, thinking I might make some panels to pop rivet to the plastic like decorative panels. Easier that trying to remake everything and a lot of the plastic is still integrally sound as far as mounting to the frame. Working on getting it running first. Off to pick up battery and new ignition coil tomorrow. Sorting out wiring harness right now 😉👍

The only way to be certain of the problem is to start dismantling the motor. Begin by removing the side cover opposite the shift lever; the shifter shaft runs across the motor, and the shift ratchet may be seen under the side cover. If everything appears to be in order, you will need to enter the cases. Unfortunately, this requires the motor's total disassembly. I've met this problem while one of my friend's quad bikes suddenly broke, while we were planning a trip to Tenerife according to this guide https://riderly.com/blog/guide-to-renting-quad-tenerife-island/.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.

HI everyone. New to this forum. I have 98 Kawasaki Bayou 400 with an apparent electrical issue. I have the Clymer manual, but I am not exactly sure where to start. The issue started a month ago and the neutral light would go on and off intermittently. Eventually it went completely off , and I thought it was a shifting issue. I took the case off and checked the clutch and all mechanical shifting components are good, so I think I eliminated that. The switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Last time I tried, I did hear a clicking sound near where the battery is right before the light went out. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Hoping this is an easy fix.
