2009 Yamaha Kodiak 450 stator specs

Anyone know what the ohm values are on all the wires that come out of the stator cover.

I think less that .05, but not 100% sure. Higher would be an open. I like this video from partzilla which explains testing ATV stators.

Thanks. I tested them and got .4 on each wire of the stator. What about the other wires?

The other wires are for the pickup coil and it is common for these to fail on Yamaha's. Usually they have a white/red & white/green wires: resistance is 450-500 ohms.

I've used RM Stator for jobber electrical parts and so far so good. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I went to check and got a reading of 512. Is this good or bad?

That's good, I believe the spec is closer to 450-550 so anything around 500 is ok.

You should buy a DVA to test voltage of the pickup coil, charge coil, and also output of the ignition coil

Don't overlook the spark plug boot - wire connection.

If in doubt, cut the wire back...
