does any body have access to a labor rate guide for an 88 LT-4WD?

I've got a 1988 LT-4WD I'm working on. I'm pretty good at giving prices (I usually screw myself, but...) but this one... This is the first time in my life that I have EVER had to pull an ENGINE just to replace a GAS TANK! I'm calling it about 8 hours, but some of that time was spent dealing with other customers, looking for tools, etc... I would LOVE to know what the rate guide actually calls for for this.

Side not... I wish engineers would have to spend a few weeks/months working on everything that they designed. Pretty sure designs would change REAL quick!

Thanks,

  • rebeltaz changed the title to does any body have access to a labor rate guide for an 88 LT-4WD?

Standard times become pretty irrelevant once things are that old, and a quad bike. A single seized screw on the bodywork can hold things up.

I was a mech and I always charged for all the time I spent productively working on the machine. If I get sidetracked in my diagnosis and spend time "barking up the wrong tree", then I discount that time. If I break some bolt off unreasonably, I fix it at my expense, if the break was unavoidable and necessary, they pay. Old machinery needs more time and care than new machinery..

People were always very happy to pay me and they always insisted that my terms were more than fair. The whole thing about being professional is in giving people every reason to have confidence and trust in you and your methods and workmanship.

Explain the complications, and the problems, and what you've charged for...

2022 Sector 550, 414 miles on it and the gas gauge reads empty.  I topped off the gas and it didn't change.
There is no fuse that I could find.  No access at the gauge cluster.
Wiring on the top of the tank looks good, properly connected.
Could the sending unit in the tank be stuck or broken?
Has anybody removed the tank lid?  Any tricks?
      Any other ideas?
      Thanks for any help,
      Clyde

      Hello there
I'm having a problem finding a quality carburetor for a 1993 Suzuki Quad Runner lt-f 250 2x4. I find a lot that have 3-4 star ratings. And all so far don't have the right throttle Cable inlet at the top. The last one I got 4 star on Amazon has a threaded cable sheath rest that could be partially drilled to work. I would prefer to get one I don't have to modify. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I just bought two 2002 Suzuki LT80K. Do I need to mix the gas or use straight unleaded?

I'm assuming, it's alright to test the engine after adjusting valves without the rear axle installed? Can someone please verify this? I'm waiting on axle parts and wanting to get that done while waiting. Thanks! 🙂
