Hisun Tactic HS800-2, mid shaft removal is it possible?

Hello People-

I'm working on a 2015 Tactic 800. I need to get at the mid shaft diff to replace the key on the output shaft, under the Y output crown gear. Has anybody been in there? I was hoping to remove the housing without pulling the tranny. I've pulled the tranny before and it was a bear to get out & in. That part of the tranny with just a 1/4" x 1" key stock seems a little week to me, is there anything I can do to beef it up?211601785_HS800MidShaftHousing.thumb.gif.4b0a9352ef54ddc26267400770e9a5e4.gif

Any help would be appreciated!!

Every part will come out. If it's part 14 you want out then it looks to me like a full strip down most likely. Never worked on one though.

If it's part 7 then I'd imagine you'll have to move one of the cases(a diff ?), from the end of it enough to let the shaft pull off it's splines.

Parts 24, 29, 31 and 33 are all called Yokes. universal yokes..  I take it that's the part you want to access ?

It's possible that the key is made weak on purpose, to save damage to other parts.. It might be designed to shear before anything else breaks. Key steel is quite soft, it you want to make it stronger you could use a harder/hardened key. I wouldn't recommend that though..

Thanx Mech-

Yes its 14 & 37 I want, I've seen a shear key in a lawn mower but on a ATV? I've got it down to the case now but the case is giving me a hard time coming loose. It looks like it should come. I'll find some way to part the case tomorrow.  Do the other two diffs have the same type of sheer key? If so I think I want to put something harder on the mid shaft or maybe another key way machined in to have two keys instead of one & rely on the front & rear diffs to shear under lode, both of them are a lot easier to mess with.

Thanx again Mech I'll let you know how things go.

Update, People-

Turns out you cannot pull the side case or midshaft out without moving the tranny forward off the insert that aligns the two cases. If you have to do that then you might as well pull the tranny & work on it on the bench. So I did and this might be the wrong thing to do but being that I have put two keys in so far. I just welded the Crown Gear to the Mid Shaft and now it will never spin again!!! Not recommending anybody do that but it's working great for me. I'm plowing snow again and I'm happy and the wife is happy, she can get out and go shopping and spend money.

See Ya Next Time-

Out For Now, Mel-

Thank for the add on quad crazy. I am new here and need some help with my atv. It’s a older Yamaha Timberwolf 250 that I purchased second hand from an person. I got it home ans started to look into it. He stated it needed a cdi box so I ordered one for it and a battery as well also a key switch cause it did not come with one. I put all the parts on it and when I hit the start button it just clicks and noting else. Thank you any help is appreciated.

I seem to have no resistance at all on the rear brake pedal and no rear brakes. They were pretty good before I removed the right side crank cover. In order to get to the lower bolts of the cover, I took a piece of baling wire and wired the pedal in the down position. I assume, that caused at least, part of the brake problem. I can't see where fluid came out but, I did have to add more fluid. Added the fluid but still no resistance to pedal. Should I try to bleed the rear brakes? Thanks

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

Okay, so I have a 2002 Rubicon 500…bought it last year and it sat for several months until I put a new rear axle in, FINALLY got that done and was super excited to finally have my wheeler going, just to notice a strong gas odor. Popped the seat off and sure enough, pouring gas from the carb overflow. Fast forward a few more weeks and get the new carb and get it in, no leak! Yay. Except now I have no spark. 😒 I’ve tried another plug and checked and am getting no power to the coil pack. I’ve read and read and mostly what I’ve found is ECU, which is fine…but I like to exhaust all avenues before buying the more expensive parts just because I don’t wanna spend the money and it have ended up being something simple that I overlooked because I was trying to rush. 😂 I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I read on another post that someone had similar issues with theirs and it was the sensor on the side of the carb, just a thought since this literally happened after I put the new carb on. It also displays “- -“ on the display screen where it should show the gear position.
