You can check the connections to the information center, it sounds like a sensor not recognizing you have shifted, im a little suprized it will move forward if it thinks you are in reverse. I would try unplugging connections cleaning with electrical contact cleaner and plug them back in. That would be my first step.

OK thanks...that will be my first step. But when I turn the key it won't start. It just dims my panel and won't even crank the engine. It will shift thru the gears so nothing is hanging up. But it doesn't want to show anything but reverse on panel. Also like I said, I'm not even getting a crank. Wondering if there is a sensor that is acting up.

There's probably a gear position sensor down on the side of the gearbox..  You could try to locate that and check it seems to be working.

A lot of bikes will start in gear if you put the brakes on enough to light the stop light.. Try that..

You might have a flat battery too or a bad starter cable by the sound of that dimming dash. If the dash dims when you push the start button then it looks like a bad battery or cable.

I've been working on this 4 wheeler for a buddy of mine. I got it running yesterday and went to ride it around the yard on a test drive. Well, it backed out of the garage fine, but when I went to move forward, it wouldn't move at all. While giving it throttle, the bike would lurch forward as if I had the brake on holding it back. Then it died died on me and wouldn't crank. That sounded like the starter was bound up. It's a new starter that I put on not long ago. It's an aftermarket. Also, when I would rev the engine up trying to get it to move, it sounded like it didn't have much, if any, power. It just wasn't revving right. Anybody have any thoughts as to what could be my problem now? The guy doesn't know what was done to the 4 wheeler by a family member. So anything could be wrong with it. Also, it rolls just fine when I had to push it back in the building. I couldn't hear any clanking or rattling in the rear end.

Hi, I’m new to the forum. I have a large trailer, about 7500 lbs loaded, that I need to move around in my driveway. I was planning to buy a motorized trailer dolly, but it occurred to me that perhaps and ATV could do it, and then I could not only move the trailer but also have the ATV for the fun of it!
I’m wondering if anyone knows if an ATV can move a trailer this size? The tongue weight is about 750 lbs, and I’d only be moving it very slowly in a small space on almost level concrete and gravel.

Okay, so I have a 2002 Rubicon 500…bought it last year and it sat for several months until I put a new rear axle in, FINALLY got that done and was super excited to finally have my wheeler going, just to notice a strong gas odor. Popped the seat off and sure enough, pouring gas from the carb overflow. Fast forward a few more weeks and get the new carb and get it in, no leak! Yay. Except now I have no spark. 😒 I’ve tried another plug and checked and am getting no power to the coil pack. I’ve read and read and mostly what I’ve found is ECU, which is fine…but I like to exhaust all avenues before buying the more expensive parts just because I don’t wanna spend the money and it have ended up being something simple that I overlooked because I was trying to rush. 😂 I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I read on another post that someone had similar issues with theirs and it was the sensor on the side of the carb, just a thought since this literally happened after I put the new carb on. It also displays “- -“ on the display screen where it should show the gear position.
