. . .  minding my own business and a blow down tree mugged me.

If Id been rolling fast id be in a pretty bad way.

Got out of it with the first black eye Ive had in decades.

Lol..  one nil to the hill.

Lucky it wasn't worse. A stick try to take out your eye did it ?

I've been caught out by the odd one poking out from the side of the track. Ya think you'll just sneak past, but it catches and swings and next second it's trying to stab a hole in you before you manage to stop the bike..

Tried . . . failed. got a heck of a shiner from it.

I'm good at ducking and rolling into the unexpected but oops, ya git hit once in awhile anyway.

That last large blow down top was the one that got me.

If ya look close as Im walking back after picking up my helmet and cam, you can see stick poking up from the front of my bike.

It (one in a million?) slid up in the adjustment slot on my gun (moose) fork and that whipped the tree top down under the visor.

I thought I was going off until my lid went flying.

Still a good ride and a good day.

If Id been on the throttle it would have been bad.

Ill take a chainsaw next time . . . once was enough.

When I go near the woods I carry a handsaw, a machete, wedges, a snig and a regular chain, and a come-along. I've used the chains to move trees and to get me up steep hills/drops I'd foolishly gone down. It all fits in a fish bin that's fitted with flat steel hooks that tuck under the front rack so it can be a dumper. Then there's the shovel, spade, long handled slasher all bungied on one side.

I cant understand folks that wear flipflops on motorcycles.

thats the surest way to guarantee your going to NEED a helmet

Flipflops ? Thongs, jandals, japanese sandles ? I reckon. And gloves, they're essential. First thing people do when they have even a minor fall is poke their hands out.

Hello all, I'm new to ATVs. I have a friend moving away and he made me a great deal on his 2007 King Quad. I couldn't resist.  So here I am trying to figure things out.
I figure I'll start with an oil change and work on registration.
I'm in Colorado so I'll be looking for some adventure soon.
I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions and hopefully be able to help someone with answers too.

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

Who agrees with me that Yamaha atv quailty was one of the best well built quailty machines money could buy, then 2007 came rolling in and they have gone to complete sh**. Cutting corners everywhere they can and made such unreliable machines
