I need some help with figuring out the issue at hand.

I just picked up 2 02 Honda Foreman Rubicon 500FAs. I just did a head gasket kit on one and carb clean out. Got it all together. Put a new battery in and once I turned the key, the cluster started flashing D1, D2, ESP, and hours. I haven’t tried pull starting it but the electric start doesn’t work.

I thought it might be the ECM, but I changed it with the parts quad I got and that didn’t change anything

I haven’t put any other parts into it yet, but wanted to know if there is certain parts or anything I should test.

Im stumped and at a loss. Im hoping I didn’t just blow 1800 on two junk quads.

Please help anyone.

Those Honda's will flash a fault code if the system is working, the number of flashes gives you an indication of the area that failed.  All connections need to be good - there's quite a few sensors that can act up & send it into "limp" mode.

So it’s a continuous flash. From what I’ve found online, the continuous flash could possibly be the ECM went bad.  But also the possibility of the control motor and a few sensors.

But what sensors I’m not sure.

It's possible that the shift control motor has failed. Another thing to check is when the shift motor is removed from the engine, ensure that the gear it turns isn't stuck.

I would get a manual if you don't already have one and go through the starting circuit wiring diagram, it could be something as simple as a starter cutout relay. Are you kidding no such thing as a junk honda and you got two. I still have an 87 250 as good as the day I bought it.

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

I am having an issue with a hs500. I bought it broken and have been trying to get it running. It seems to be starving for fuel. If I put my hand over the intake it will crank but will not run for very long because I'm not able to get the correct airflow with my hand. The things I have done so far are. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, mass airflow sensor, idle air adjuster, fuel injector, cleaned the throttle body, replaced the ecu, and still the same issue. I notice the injector does not spray when removed from the head. I dont know if that is common.

I am out of ideas on what to do next. I have removed the fuel line from the injector and it is getting plenty of fuel. If anyone has an idea on what could possibly be the issue I would be happy to try anything at this point.

Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage
