Just got the quadrunner. Seller showed it would start and run a few seconds on ether. I ordered a new fuel pump and installed it. Put 2 amp charger on battery and tried to start-NOTHING. No lights come on , etc. Acts like battery is dead but it isn't. HELP Please!

It cranked on starting fluid before you replaced the fuel pump, I would check wiring in that area to make sure nothing got unplugged and check fuses , starter cuytout relay, and key switch, make sure you are getting power in all these places.

Do the headlights work ? The horn ? Brake lights ? The later models will start in gear if you apply the brakes hard enough to make the brake lights go. Put the brakes on hard and see if it will crank.

Then, as Gw says, you should look at the wiring all around near where you were working.. and the fuses etc.

Oops. Just looked at a manual and it looks like those ones don't have a brake light so that test is out.

There should be a fuse holder and a couple of relays close to the wiring in the battery area, you should check to make sure the fuse is good and that power is getting past the fuse, sometimes fuses can get corroded not make contact, even though it looks good.

It could be a switch, they have an opportunity to play up every time they are used/switched. If it was running and got switched off..  check the switch.

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

Hi my name is Greg and I just acquired a free 2000 yamaha kodiac 400 4x4 with the ultramatic transmission that does not run. I plan to get it going and use it around my property

I hadn't driven my Kodiak for a two months, and since it was low on fuel, the first thing I did was filled it up to maybe 7/8 full. Getting ready to start it, I rotated the fuel selector switch to "on" and within seconds I smelled and saw fuel dripping onto the floor. I quickly turned it off and the fuel gradually stopped - I can repeat this.
The fuel is flowing from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the carb, and routes around to the left side toward the wheel well. Any idea what's going on here? It ran fine the last time I had it out.
      Thanks...
