Hey ya'll, question...

I bought a Suzuki quadsport lt230s in rough shape. I've been slowly buying parts to restore it it's former glory. (Motor has good compression, so I took that as a green light.)

My question: The tires don't keep air. Before I pull the trigger on new ones, I'm wondering how to get them off so I can attempt to reseal the beads. Any recommendations on how to get them off?

Just my opinion, if i go to the trouble of taking them off the rim , i would go ahead and put on new ones, if you want to reseal the bead, i use a harbour freight tire changer,  but you might be able to break the bead with a large c clamp  and reseal them without taking them off the rim.  Have you checked to find out where they are leaking with soapy water. I have also used slime to seal leaks, not a big fan but it does work. A lot of people put it in their tires for insurance, i dont.

Put tyre slime in them...  It fixes slow leaks and prevents new ones.

If it is the beads leaking you'll need to pull the wheels and lay them on the side to get the slime there, but if it's prickles in the tryes just riding it will seal them..  I love the stuff. I put it in as a preventative.

Haha.. I'm a mech Gw.. we never do anything to our machines unless we have to..

I see quite a few ads for that  Tribotex additive. It's kind of expensive, has anyone used it it their ATV or any other vehicle?

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

Has anyone else had an issue on older king quads where the oil would leak from the top of the head (due to a failed gasket) and drip onto the hot exhaust? Mine got so hot one time it caught fire. Just wondering if this is a common issue, as I've seen the same thing happen on multiple bikes that were the same model.
