1998 suzuki king quad 300 4x4, where is the rev limiter?

How do I get rid of my rev limiter? I need to get to higher rpm's

Ha..  If you rev it up all the time it'll start smoking. They don't handle well enough to go fast.

Get a sports model if you like thrashing.

The REV limiter is generally a screw in the throttle housing you can change the rev limits by screwing it in or out.

Oh true..  That's a throttle limiter really but it might be his problem.

I don't have a regular cable. I cut a king quad 300 4x4 in half and put a crossfire buggy in the middle. It runs great but I'm changing gears way to soon because it starts cutting out. That's the problem I'm having. Thanks

 Interesting, What do you have for a throttle.

Maybe I should have said that in a different way. I have a throttle cable but not the one that came on the atv. Just a cable that came on the buggy. If I can figure out how to send a picture I'll send one of my 4x4 buggy.

I would consider a bigger quad if you want higher RPMs, it seems you want to rally? Any context of why you want it raised?

Check your charging system, and the fuel supply..

Normally the power just fades away as the revs get high. If it's stuttering like a EFI car hitting the rev limiter then it's quite likely a problem with the charging. The first simple test is just to put a voltage gauge across the battery and see the voltage rises once it's started, and that it doesn't go over about 14.7 after a few minutes and some revving.

Turning the headlight on makes a difference to how many revs it will get to before stuttering too if it's the charging quite often..  Try that.
