Just picked up a 2008 Big Bear 250. It was sitting for about 1 year it's definitely a project. Currently chasing down a no spark issue. Imagine that lol

Tons of info around the forum. I look forward to learning!

Looks good, Should be a fun project , it seems to be all there, hopefully its not the CDI, that could be expensive, what have you done and found so far.

yeah, it's all there. I've been going thru the electrical diagrams and troubleshooting process. I made it to testing the stator and found I'm missing 2 wires on the 4 wire plug. Looks like something chewed em. So, I bought a new stator; should be here this week. Once that's on I'll continue down the list. I did find some more broken wires that go to the foot brake switch, I'll splice those back together also.

Maybe I'll start a build thread to keep up with everything 😂😂

Sounds good, hopefully one of the broken wires will be to the pickup coil, then, fixing that will get you sparking again. A build thread would be good, i did that with my Big Bear, it kind of keeps things interesting, and for me it kept me motivated, mine was in a lot worse shape than yours, i had to figure out all the wiring, it was all ripped out.

Welcome!  This is gonna sound dumb, but when I was chasing a no-spark issue in my Big Bear... it ended up being the battery.  The battery would take a charge and appear good on the meter, but still didnt have enough bang to get the job done.  Swapped in a new battery and bingo, problem solved.

Bought a 88 big bear 350 4x4 took it for a run and lost spark, found it was stator so I replaced that then took it for a long run and it sat for 2 days and no spark again, this time stator tests good on ohms and voltage for source and pick up coils so I started replacing things including regulator, ignition, ignition coil and plug cap, spark plug and everything tests great including all safety switches until the orange wire for ignition coil from the cdi it only reads 3 volts so I replaced the cdi and still 3 volts, any ideas??

Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.

So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.

Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

Hello all, I have a 2006 Polaris Sawtooth with no spark. It has a dead battery but with a jump pack on it, it will still not Spark. Plug is good, Throttle ETC is not closed, Stator pick up coil seems to Ohm out in the correct range, Unsure how to properly check the CDI. And when ignition is on the Neutral and reverse light come on but after cranking just the neutral stays on.

      Any help would be great,

      Thanks!

I am having an issue with a hs500. I bought it broken and have been trying to get it running. It seems to be starving for fuel. If I put my hand over the intake it will crank but will not run for very long because I'm not able to get the correct airflow with my hand. The things I have done so far are. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, mass airflow sensor, idle air adjuster, fuel injector, cleaned the throttle body, replaced the ecu, and still the same issue. I notice the injector does not spray when removed from the head. I dont know if that is common.

I am out of ideas on what to do next. I have removed the fuel line from the injector and it is getting plenty of fuel. If anyone has an idea on what could possibly be the issue I would be happy to try anything at this point.
