Kawasaki Engine Serial Number Decoding?

I received an additional parts engine with a 220 Bayou I purchased, but I believe it's a couple years newer than the ATV, Is there a way to decode the engine serial number like we can with VIN numbers?

Dang MECH, you had me excited for a second... Unfortunately, the model/years I'm looking for are missing in that table. Story of my life.

Yeah I checked it. Thought you might be able to extrapolate somehow..  haha.

There are other sites like it. It did at least confirm it's for the Bayou.

It's really only the last six numbers that are the engine number. If you looked in parts books it might just, if you are lucky, find they refer to parts changes by referencing the number. That's how you discover if it was some tricky situation where the part changed half way through a model year/run.

I think the A in your engine code is the date i have not been able to find anything to decipher the code, but from memory i think the A code was for the 2003-2005 models.
