2021 ranger 150 tranny issues

Just purchased the subject 150.  It makes a crunchy chunky sound when reversing. There was a lot of slack on the chain so I assume that was it, but when I took the chain off I noticed that the transmission output shaft has a lot of slop in it. I have to assume that's not normal. Can anyone confirm?

Wanted to add that I have now removed the transmission cover and found the problem.  There was less than two tablespoons of gear oil...  The transmission output shaft bearing was destroyed and the gear on the shaft is missing partial teeth at three spots.

So, oil, gasket, bearing, and gear I should be good.  I'm just glad I caught this before the transmission Frank totally.

I had the same issue had 2 gears broken in the case. Replaced the gears I am not having an issue getting the shifter aligned and my shifter cable came loose at the gear selector. Does anyone have the pages of the service manual that they would be willing to share for the gear selector?

      I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
      What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
      Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?

      Purchased a Yamaha 350 Big Bear I don't see any VIN number on it

      Hi, I am new to  this forum and I am happy to be here.  I purchased a Yamaha 350 Big Bear without a title and I cannot find a Vin number to find out what year it is.  I am hoping someone here can help me identify this atv. I checked on the main frame near the front A-arm left side found nothing.  I checked up near the radiator and found nothing.  Where else should I look?  See image below.

      94 Polaris Trail Boss 250 2wd - Transmission Question/Help Needed

      I have a 94 Trail Boss 250 2wd that will not go into forward. Reverse works great but forward just clicks but won’t engage. I’ve verified the shift lever is pushing far enough so I believe I have either an engagement “dog” or mating forward gear that are likely bad. I also see a fair amount of metal on the dipstick magnet. But if I ride the machine in reverse the gearbox seems quiet with no other issues by what I hear. That said I’m in process of pulling the gearbox to see what parts I need. The gearbox has 1341124 as the model number as shown in the photo below but I can’t find any gearbox on eBay or the Polaris parts site that matches that number. Is this 94 model a year that used some special gearbox? My tag on the box even looks different than all the tags on gearboxes I see for sale on eBay. I really want to buy new parts for the ones damaged in my gearbox to fix the one I have but just doing research at this point to see what gearbox I have to know which parts I need. Anyone with experience with this I welcome some advice or direction from what you have learned. Just FYI this machine is new to me but cranks, runs and idles perfect. It’s not beat up and will be a gem when I get this tranny fixed. Thanks.

      Do any have any experience replacing 2001 Big Bear 400 Front Differential Input Shaft bearing and seal. Getting ready to buy one but the seal and bearing are bad. Any help would be appreciated.
