so i have bought a quad (1985 suzuki LT250E) and the quad had the wrong spark plug and was not tight enough I now have dirty tread and a compression leak what would be my best option try to force the spark plug or take a tap and clean the tread ?

If the thread is stripped you can try a tap the same size as the correct spark plug thread to try to get it to cut threads good enough to hold the plug, as a last resort you can get a heliocoil kit to create new threads. I prefer trying the tap even if the threads are partially gone there should be enough left to hold the plug and go down far enough to seal.

If the plug that was in there had short threads then the bottom few threads in the head have probably filled up with carbon. You should try cleaning them with a tap, and then crank the engine over a few times to blow the carbon dust you've loosened out. Hopefully that's all that's needed.

If the threads have stripped you can get a thread insert that will wind in and make it possible to use the correct spark-plug again. And as before, if you fit an insert, crank the engine over to blow any metal or carbon out.

I've done both jobs and never needed to pull the engine apart.

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

Just picked up an 84 LT185 ATV, I understand there was an accessory add  on that gave it electric start, anyone have any info about that kit?

My 1992 TRX00 recently stopped firing.  I understand this is a common problem. I have ordered an aftermarket CDI unit.    TJ

I am looking for a PDF version of a manual for a Suzuki Quadrunner 250.  I am not sure of the year, but believe it is a late 1990s model.
